Jim DeMint is also a backer of Lindsey Graham. That’s why I never listened to him that much. I am surprised that he is considered part of the Tea Party considering his Graham advocacy.

I wish I understood why the GOP is so inept at messaging!!! This should be a fairly simple script, that even the dimmest of bulbs in the party can repeat:

“The question shouldn’t be why we’re still working to keep Obamacare from going into full effect. It should be why WOULDN’T we be doing everything we can to stop it.

When the Dems conjured up the ACA:

- We said it would kill jobs; they said it wouldn’t. Well now we have proof - it kills jobs, particularly middle-class jobs that are the backbone of our economy. Employers are cutting full-time jobs, and making them part-time. And they’re taking part-timers, and limiting their hours to ensure their costs of providing medical insurance don’t skyrocket.;

- We said it wouldn’t reduce medical or insurance costs, and would almost certainly drive those costs up. They said it would reduce costs - insurance, care provision, everything. Well now we have proof - it is driving costs higher.

- We said it would reduce care options, as individual doctors, doctor groups, and other care providers would retire, close down, or limit patient access. The Dems said this wouldn’t happen, and we were fear-mongers. Well now we have proof - we were right, and medical care choices are now more limited.

- They said medical insurance premiums would drop - not just for a few, but for everyone; we said there was no way to insure an additional 10 million people, and not have premiums increase to cover costs. Again, we were right, as people across America are seeing the devastating effects of higher premiums for mandated coverage they don’t want or need.

- They said we could keep our existing plans if we liked them. But, as millions of Americans have learned, this also is a falsehood. Individual policy-holders in the millions are being told their plans aren’t available under the ACA, tne their replacement plans are sometimes 2 or 3 times more expensive than their canceled plans.

- They also said we could keep our doctors, but doctors and doctor groups are refusing to participate in the least expensive plans, because of the dramatic shift in reimbursement rates they would receive for providing care.

You see, the Dems were not straight with the American people when they rammed this legislation through. There was a reason not a single Republican legislator voted for it in the House and the Senate. We knew it, and said it at the time. We were ridiculed by them, and by the press. But we were right - and the proof is there for all to see now.

All of America would be well served to see this terrible legislation repealed. But, at the very least, we should hit the pause button. There literally is no good reason to continue down this path, and it’s why we’re fighting so hard to mitigate its negative impacts.

So again, the question isn’t why we’re against it. The question is: “Why would any reasonable person be for it?”.

The goal is a single payer system, and managed care.

The biggest concern to the Fedgov is long life times. People retire at 62, go on SS, and live to their 90’s. With the demographic winter coming, that is not sustainable.

A single payer system, with managed care, will lower the average life span. Big corps are for it, because they want to get out of the health care side of things, and they are worried about all the 401K’s being drained out of the market when the Boomers cash out.

My grandparents lived till their 90’s. My parents are in their 70’s. With what is coming, I don't expect to reach either mark.

Where are the five states that will have premiums that go down? Is he factoring in illegal Mexicans who will get free insurance?

Agreed. We will keep working until this program is repealed.

I keep asking Heritage how much they’re paying Demint. Crickets. I’ll pay more attention to him when he discloses what the deal with Heritage is? I’m just natchurly suspicious that he’s a big money front name ala Lizzy Dole/Red Cross with no real participation/action.

All you need to do is look at my country, Canada. Healthcare costs are now approaching 50% of provincial budgets.

Good for DeMitt. Obummercare has shown itself to be a disaster. They had one sign up in Delaware and they had a celebration! I’m sure a 10 year old could have designed a better web page for Obamacare. This is an epic disaster brought to you by Democrats and RINOS!!!

I’m paying $5 dollars for my Obamacare. No more no less. I was told this was “Affordable care” and $5 is all I can afford. I am sending a letter to Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid every month demanding they cover the rest of the cost so it remains affordable to me.

I think he will follow his friend Lindsey and back down no matter the rhetoric to the contrary.

I think Jim DeMint unlike what the late Jack French Kemp called “our liberal friends” means well. It’s just that his dedication to Lindsey Graham casts some doubt on him.
