Why We Need Both Sen. John Cornyn and Sen. Ted Cruz (Cornyn protection piece)
blogchron.com ^ | 10/17/13

Sen. John Cornyn has taken a lot of heat from the right for not supporting Sen. Ted Cruz and Sen. Mike Lee when they filibustered a House-passed bill that would fund the federal government but defund Obamacare. It was a complicated mess, but anyone who has followed Cornyn’s career knows he has fought against Obamacare from day one. The difference here was a difference in strategy. Cornyn has been in the Senate for 11 years. Cruz has been in the Senate for less than a year. I think Cornyn knew that strategically this wouldn’t work, and he ended up being right about that.

Cornyn was a a state Supreme Court Justice and Attorney General before he was a Senator. He is calm and reasoned. Cruz was Soliciter General before he was a Senator, and he argued 43 oral arguments before the Supreme Court. He is used to arguing his point in a forceful way. Cruz campaigned on shaking things up. Cornyn has been doing the hard work for years. Cruz is a flamethrower. Cornyn is about rules and the rule of law. Cruz is about throwing a wrench in the works. Cornyn is about doing the right thing day in and day out.

I think both of them are great men. I think both of them care about this country very deeply. It’s unfair to call Cornyn a sell out for one disagreement on strategy and ignore his years of hard work for conservative causes. It’s also unfair for newspapers, like this one, to act shocked that Ted Cruz did exactly what he promised during his campaign. Do we need someone like Cruz in the Senate? Yes, we do. Do we need someone like John Cornyn in the Senate? Yes we do.

I have written Cornyn and told him exactly what I think about him and his RINO ways. I will do anything I can to keep him from being reelected. He won’t get another vote from me.

Good. I wrote my rep and one senator who betrayed me and told them I will vote them out.

This was written by nobody I’d listen to on a site I’d never read. And oh gee, she is such a learned “ex-Democrat”. That is the problem with the internet and especially personal blogs even spewed on a liberal rag like the Houston Comical. They are given importance they don’t have and never did. Cornyn has been bitten by the zombie that is Washington DC and he has been turned. He is now part of the Rino undead.

Being nice to these clowns simply sends them the message you are a reasonable person because reasonable people are nice.

You’re nice, you’re reasonable, you will understand why I put this knife in your kidney, you won’t lash out.

People that aren’t nice aren’t reasonable, they won’t understand why I put the knife in their kidney, they will lash out, so I won’t put the knife in their kidney. I’ll put the knife in the nice persons kidney and be safe.

Well don't you know Americans want a perfect person. There is no such thing or life would be a bowl of crap. Diversity makes life worth living. The truly grown up realized that if difference is considered evil by some then it must follow that sometimes the lesser of the two evils is the only chance. Americans just seem to still live in a dream world. I agree that both men are doing the best they can for America. This is what happened to Romney. Miss Romney yet?

The Establishment Elites of the GOP always sling the same old tired mantra: We’ll “play nice today” and we can deal with this another day. These turds have been kicking the can down the road for 5 years now and what have they accomplished? Not a damned thing.

The economy is in the shitter, Obamacide is still threatening our Freedom and Obama is running off at the mouth because he knows that he will get anything that he wants.

Same thing in the House. Boehner refuses to name SELECT COMMITTEES to investigate BENGHAZI, the IRS Abuses of Power, NSA Domestic Spying and a host of other threats to our Liberty and Freedom.

These RINOs took an Oath of Office to “PRESERVE AND PROTECT the CONSTITUTION” and have IGNORED their Sworn Duty to do so. They are DERELICT in their DUTY and as such deserve to be thrown out of office with Extreme Prejudice.

I have had my fill of these assholes.

Before I supprt ANY candidate for ANY Public Office, I will measure them against TED CRUZ. If they can’t measure up with him, they can KISS MY ASS.

I will work the phones, walk door to door, post signs on all my properties, and do what ever I can to support a Tea Party candidate that runs against this POS.

Cornyn has received calls and messages from me going back to his first term asking why he does not stand and fight for what his constituents expect of him. He has sold out to the Washington crowd and must not be allowed to win another term.

A guy named Dwayne Stovall is in the running I believe. He seems OK just not well known. Not much research available yet ...

Yes there have been a few mentioned but no one has good statewide recognition,
financing and endosements to beat Cornyn, imo. We’ll know shortly who is entering
as the filing is from Nov. 9 - Dec. 9. So it about to become ‘get off the pot’ time.
