Shut it down again? He didn’t shut it down the first time.

Not recognizing Obamacare for what it is, is delusional and ignorant. Enjoy at your own peril. Fool.

So are you going to roll over and expose your genitilia or are you going to man the f$ck up and explain to everyone in here why you continue to support commiecare? I’m absolutely hanging on the edge of my seat waiting to hear why you think my country will benefit from having this Marxist administration take over 1/6th of the economy. Come on you POS, tell me why I’m wrong!

Yeh, how bright are you to think a government program offers a “safety net”.

Thinking the government will save you, is typical of liberals and I reckon you are a progressive, in your defense (or lack of therein) of Obamacare.

A TRUE conservative, would not want government or government programs in any part of their lives...and recognizes the best way to fix “healthcare” is the private marketplace (free of regulations) and self responsibility. It’s people, like you, who depend on government to solve these problems, that have destroyed this country.

He’s a POS commie that has admitted to fully supporting having the Marxist Obama administration take over 1/6th of our economy. Fact!

And something else to think about with Obamacare, since you think it’s so awesome, is this...when you have to see the doctor, can you afford a $5000 deductible, to be paid up front, before any treatment?

As a private citizen, in the middle class, I know I sure as heck can’t.

Of course he can’t. He’s admitted to supporting Obamacare because he supports Obama. I’ve challenged him time and time again to give a reasonable explanation for supporting having the Feds take over 1/6 of the American economy and he can’t come up with anything. He’s a f$cking Marxist pig that should be thrown the hell out of here.

Safety nets already existed for people with low to no income or who lose their job, Cobra health insurance and Medicaid.

Obamacare opens up a whole new level of subsidies for people in the middle class. Its real goal is to raise the income bar higher for putting people on a welfare program so Obama can make government dependents out of middle class voters who don’t usually vote for Democrats as often as the lower and upper clases. Obamacare is a Democrat GOTV outreach operation for the middle class.

The other people who might truly benefit are people with pre-existing conditions who would’ve had to pay a lot more for health insurance than average people before. The law says the companies have to charge them the same as a healthy person now. So that’s why the premiums for healthy people are going way up, to make up for the sick people who had to pay more before or who didn’t have health insurance and will now be buying a plan that doesn’t come close to covering their medical expenses.

Obamacare is an identity thief’s dream as well as a fraud magnet.
It also was designed in a way that has nothing to do with healthcare, insurance affordability and availability, and making doctors more available.
It will do none of the above other than promote fraud and identity theft.
It is not a balm of Gilead for anyone.
Least of all any self identified conservatives.

Unfortunately conservatives need to acknowledge the MSM has power. Fair or unfair, certain narratives are established and will take time to defeat. It is call political terrain. Politics is like war, a good general chooses proper tactics that take advantage of terrain to minimize casualties. The 1995/96 gov shutdown already taught the GOP a lesson, to repeat the mistake because we want to do something to satisfy our anger shows the lack of wisdom. Rove is not my hero, but not everything he says is wrong either.
The sticker shock of Obamacare and a stagnate economy is the GOP ticket to winning in 2014. Dems are going to throw all types of distractions using the MSM. I think Obamacare is such a major issue that even the MSM cannot hide its effects. Problem that can cause the GOP to lose 2014 and POTUS in 2016 is the internal civil war. If the GOP cannot resolve the Tea Party and Big Business faction conflict, the Dems may take the House in 2014 and keep the WH in 2016. If the Tea Party and GOP-E think life is rough now, imagine HRC as President in 2016 with two houses of Congress in Dem hands.

Actually the GOP did offer alternatives. Making health insurance portable like your 401k plan. Obamacare is not the answer because like many large Fed Programs it is not financially sustainable. Country is in debt. Fed gov has $ 17 trillion which is equal to the entire annual US GDP. In addition we have $ 70 to 100 trillion in unfunded liabilities. Add to that the US gov will back the Fed Reserve as they guarantee loans and bailout to our banks on investment liabilities in unregulated exchanges and offshore bank deals. We are looking at an additional $ 100 trillion. So in a nutshell the US gov is on the hook for about $ 200 trillion and to give you a perspective the entire world economy is about $ 60 trillion. IAW the entire US debt is equal to 3 to 4 times the entire world economic output. I have not even added the costs of Obamacare to the equation.
Given these financial figures, how long do you think you will be covered by Obamacare?
I do agree with you on jobs. Both parties fail. GOP trusted Wall Street too much and corporations were more then happy to train China and India to replace American jobs. GOP call it captitalism and free trade and Main Street USA too the brunt of it. Dems want big gov to do everything and result is more regulations and higher taxes. Ironically to solve unemployment both parties want amnesty for illegal immigrants and more legal immigrants!!!!!

Obamacare offers (me) a safety net, should something go seriously south, at work.

No it doesn't.

I have yet to see how it does anyone of any status any good. It is like a bulldozer driven by a blindman, destroying all sectors of "healthcare" including both providers and insurance carriers. (which is its actual purpose)

Existing private coverage or medical welfare programs blow its doors off. Our current system is the best in the world except in some of the ultra-liberal (stupid) states.

Obamacare MAY BE IS ABSOLUTELY about Socialism and Government control.

Socialized medicine IS THE FOUNDATION of Communism.

LOL, the old timeworn canard about needing the independents. How did that greatest of independent-wooers, Mitt Romney, turn out?

You have some interesting posts and viewpoints. Quite a few of your posts drip with concern for Ted Cruz.

Ted has to work on his messaging, playing in to the rhetorical hands of the left is not a good strategy.

People have yet to learn what a real shutdown is like, and still believe the spoon fed message that it would destroy the economy.

Ted needs to make it clear that Obama alone was the cause of the shutdown, not him or any other republican. But Obama who absolutely refused to negotiate and demanded everything.

“ALL Democrats support ObamaCare; 114 Republican Senators and Congressmen support ObamaCare; the media support ObamaCare. Ted Cruz and the Tea Party do not.
It’s YOUR call, America.”

No its not, its our rights being violated by that act of abomination! We have a Right to dictate the course AND nature of our own healthcare! We have a right to decide what sort of thing we pay-for. If we haven’t that right then we have no rights and no hope of controlling our own personal budget much-less the Government’s.
