Obamacare: How affordable is health insurance after the Affordable Care Act?
New Jersey Star-Ledger ^ | October 20, 2013 | by Robert Sciarrino

Rich Sitko can’t wait to buy a new health insurance plan. Sitko, 64, from Essex Fells, now has an indemnity plan from Aetna for which he pays $1,178 per month with a $2,500 deductible.

He believes he will find a less costly option on the new health insurance exchange — the online marketplace created by the Affordable Care Act.

His new plan, he said, will still most likely cost close to $10,000 a year and won’t have any of his doctors in network. To get a plan similar to the one he has now, he’d actually have to pay more money.

Across New Jersey and throughout the country many people, especially those in their 50s and 60s, are experiencing a bit of "sticker shock" as they shop for insurance. Plans cost thousands of dollars per year and many come with deductibles that are a couple thousand more.

To answer the question (in title) must ask a question.

How Many Wheel Barrows can one push? Nope, wrong answer!
For by the time this law is fully implemented one cannot
push that many wheel barrows.

The equation is Looters + Moochers defeating the Producers in modern elections.

Until reality forces a reset. Until then, it's a race to the bottom in a socialist hell.

a bit of "sticker shock"

Paying more and getting less while having no choice in the matter is "affordable"? And "reform"?

Only liberals can say that making things worse is an improvement.

Good news comrades, the monthly chocolate ration will be increased from 25 grams to 20 grams! Cheers to our glorious leader.

Question, how many will die because of ObamaCare?

All I can say is, the American people were amply warned about Obamacare and what we are now seeing unfold, but as usual, they listened to the wrong people peddling pie in the sky utopianism.

“And yet NJ votes for another idiot like Booker. “

Democrats have trouble with “cause and effect”.

They vote in an Obama “Mini-Me”.

ObamaCare is like the carpenter who says, “No matter how many times I cut this board, it’s still not long enough”.

Before he introduced Obamacare, Obama talked about lowering the age for Medicare to 55, probably as a gift to government worker retirees. That went over like a lead balloon.

The more I look at Obamacare, the more I realize that is what he did. Obamacare is free if you don't earn any money and retirement income doesn't count.

I’ve been trying to find budget numbers including revenue for the federal Medicaid plan. From what I’ve read most of the enrollees are Medicaid . The cost of the Medicaid expansion was to be covered wholly by the fed at first (to the States that opted to do so). I read that CA alone enrolled 600,000 to expanded Medicaid.
If anyone knows where the projections are please let me know. I fear that the gov’t is going to have to borrow/print a lot more money in 2014 and could be the beginning of a collapse.
