Obama to address widespread health care problems - Rose Garden - Monday morning

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama is expected to acknowledge that widespread problems with his health care law's rollout are unacceptable, as the administration scrambles to fix the cascade of computer issues.

Obama was scheduled to speak Monday from the Rose Garden, his first health care-focused event since the scope of the problems became apparent. The troublesome rollout of the health care exchanges has been a glaring embarrassment for Obama's signature legislative achievement.

White House officials say the president will discuss steps the administration is taking to address the failures, including ramping up staffing at call centers where people can apply for insurance by phone. The Department of Health and Human Services says it is also bringing in technology experts from inside and outside of government to help diagnose the issues.

HHS, in a memo released Sunday, said it was also putting in place "tools and processes to aggressively monitor and identify parts of HealthCare.gov where individuals are encountering errors or having difficulty using the site, so we can prioritize and fix them."

Obama will be flanked at the Rose Garden event by people the White House says have already enrolled during the first three weeks of sign-ups. Enrollment figures are being closely guarded by the administration, which plans to release the first round of data in mid-November.

Obama: well, for starters we’ll need a couple hundred million dollars to tweak the system. That will do the trick...

Yeah? What about the 600 million dollars we've spent on the damn computer system already?

Wanna bet he says....one year delay....not because of the problems but because this self funding program isn’t and won’t produce any funds. It’s just a scam to not only access your bank account but also to do away with the look behind attached to Medicare.

When Obummer starts b*tching about the evil Repubs blocking the “settled law of the land” and that the website problems are because the Repubs were making life miserable (thus the lack of transparency & inability to shop without giving up all but your firstborn), the Repubs need to pound back about the millions and millions that have been WASTED already with a crippled, ridiculous website. The R’s have the upper hand here .... I’m betting they continue to be the General Custer Caucus.

This is classic Obumbo.

Suddenly appear and announce he's unhappy about something he initiated, as if he had nothing to do with it in the first place.

This is W's fault and I'm going to focus like a laser beam during the effort of getting it fixed.

Obviously the gov't needs fundamental transformation, and I'm the WON to do it.

‘Glitch’ has been and will be the continued meme for this EPIC failure. I won’t even listen. He’s supposed to have a parade of enrollees, etc. surrounding him. Eff him and his ‘staged’ performances.
Fox news even ran the headline...”President VOWS to fix the website” or something to that effect.

I HATE the way the term VOW is thrown around so casually. It’s as bad as the overused term ‘thwart’. Do these writers have access to a Thesaurus????? ugh.. pet peeve/rant off.

"one year delay"

14 month delay more likely. Smart money saw this coming way off.

Yeah? What about the 600 million dollars we've spent on the damn computer system already?

And the website cost spent by Obama steamrolling this program on the country is just one part of the costs to the taxpayer. Calculate the untold B$$$$$$ this has cost the country because it has been an anchor on our economy - and the human wreckage left in it's wake. And it isn't even up and running. Wait until we see what's in store once that awful event crashes down on us.

If Barry can be “flanked” in his Rose Garden by all the people who signed up for his “healthcare”, the number of people signed up must not be very large. I imagine they just hired some morons and gave them each a “sob story” to regurgitate to the “media”. Probably SEIU workers.
