AFL-CIO head threatens political retribution for Social Security, Medicare cuts ('end your career')

In prepared remarks given in advance to the Huffington Post, AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka warns Democrats against accepting any budget deal that includes cuts to Social Security, Medicare or Medicaid, and even goes so far as to threaten to end the career of any politician who fails to heed his call.

“No politician … I don’t care the political party … will get away with cutting Social Security, Medicare or Medicaid benefits. Don’t try it,” Trumka says, according to the Huffington Post. “This warning goes double for Democrats,” he continues. “We will never forget. We will never forgive. And we will never stop working to end your career.”

Richard Trumka wasted millions trying to defeat GOP candidates in 2010 and then flushed millions more down the toilet in the union assault on Wisconsin's public employee reforms and the failed Walker recall. He backs Obama’s “immigration reform” which will replace millions of rank-and-file union members with newly minted “ciudadanos.”

Trumka is the proverbial flea floating down the river on a leaf, masturbating while yelling: “Open the drawbridge!”

I read in Forbes that Polish government basically confiscated the pensions of private individual. The took any Polish Bonds and basically cancelled the debt. It also looks like they may go after private retirements as well. Net impact is about 50% of retirement.

BOY- glad that can't happen in the USA- right.... Well by most accounts, American's that worked their adult life post 1982 Social Security Reform will earn a compounded return of -0.7%. Given that inflation since 1982 is 4.5%, over the last 21 years the government has confiscated 41% of your money you put into social security.

Furthermore, if SS was private and one could earn just 1% better than inflation, the value of your SS would be 10% higher.

SO Uncle Sam has taken 51% of your retirement- the Polish deal of 50% isn't so bad,
