New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie on Monday withdrew legal opposition to gay marriage, making same-sex nuptials the law in the state.

The move makes New Jersey the 14th state in the nation to legalize gay marriage.

On Friday, the state Supreme Court refused to delay a lower-court order for the state to begin recognizing same-sex marriages. On Monday morning, Christie said in a statement that he ordered an appeal dropped.

"Chief Justice Rabner left no ambiguity about the unanimous court's view on the ultimate decision in this matter when he wrote, 'same-sex couples who cannot marry are not treated equally under the law today," Christie said.

EXACTLY for every argument used for homosexual sham marriage can be used for any other kind of marriages, sadly liberals can’t look that far into the future.

what was wrong about the NJ court decision is that it had NOTHING to do with “righting” NEW JERSEY law

the plaintiffs complained that FEDERAL LAW does not provide partners in a civil partnership equal status with spouses in a marriage

HOWEVER (a) New Jersey law (it’s civil parnerhsip law) makes clear that NEW JERSDEY makes both states of partners - spouses in marriage and civil partnersship partners - equal under New Jersey law and for and within THE STATE OF NEW JERSEY AND (b) it is NOT the MANDATORY object of NEW JERSEY law to compensate for “deficiencies” in or “correct” for “deficiencies” in FEDERAL LAW.

The asinine argument of the idiots on the New Jersey court is that New Jersey law is MANDATORILY responsible for correcting a deficiency in federal law - it’s not.

The proper place for the plaintiffs and the proper correction for their complaint is NOT in the redefinition of marriage in New Jersey, dictated by judges, but in a simply LEGISLATIVE act by the U.S. Congress that changes federal law to accept on the same basis, in federal law, the parners in any state’s legally established civil partnerships, as any federal law now reserves for spouses in a marriage.

THAT would be “equality under the law” WITHOUT any change in the definition of marriage by ANY STATE. BUT, the agends is NOT “equality under the law” but LEGALLY MANDATED “social change and acceptance” as exemplified by the unnecessary redefinition of marriage.

The good news is that the most liberal states have made their move; the rest are more conservative so the juggernaut of perversion may not go much further.

Well you forgot that Pennsylvania and Illinois will soon have gay marriage and those are big states.

The entire Northeast must be expelled from the Republic.

They are a cancer that must be cut out, irradiated, and thrown into the trash.

There really isn't any good reason to keep them around anymore.

They can have half of California too.

It’s hard to watch, I know. But they really did march on Paris, over and above what we’ve done, and I think we could pick an obviously less brave group with whom to compare, using examples less than 60 years old
