Doesn't cost an enemy much, anymore. Just a couple hundred bucks.

This is a firing squad offense.

A Navy officer going to see Lady Gaga - death penalty for sure.

Oh yea, and that giving stuff to the enemy is not acceptable either.

If I were him, I would claim that I was being persecuted because I like Lady GaGa, and she/he supports homosexual marriage.

The charges would be dropped in no time...

IF it is true!! a lot of non conforming commanders are quietly being removed.

The message; obey the master O or you are out!

Makes you wonder considering the types that are in charge now, just how many freely give or are blackmailed into giving secrets

Mary Sue and the sidecleaners gone crazy.
The business of Singapore is trade and a lot of the trade in SE Asia is accompanied by corruption. Singapore allows their traders pretty free rein to give kickbacks and other forms of corruption to foreign companies..just as long as they don’t get caught and the aren’t cheating the Singapore govt of taxes.
Those offering ships services have been bribing ships agents and officers for centuries and the USN is not immune. Any old Asian hand knows this goes on and if you are honest you need to say no. The fact that this company had such a dominate role in providing services is a real red flag. No doubt they were investigated..but senior commanders should have known about the risk and one wonders whether the scandal involves some even more senior officers receiving gifts and favors.
This is written by someone who lived in Singapore twice for several years and also served in the USN in Asia.
