Ted Cruz knows exactly what he’s doing [a liberal pulls "dots" out of thin air to connect]
Salon ^ | October 22, 2013 | Joan Walsh

Hey, did you hear the one about the disappearing “Nigerian email scammers”? They’ve “become a lot less active lately” because they’ve “all been hired to run the Obamacare website.” That’s Sen. Ted Cruz, folks, on his Reactionary Real America Victory Tour Monday night, and he’ll be here all week, maybe all decade. Tip your waiter!

Declaring that our first black president’s signature policy achievement is being run by “Nigerian email scammers” is GOP dog-whistle politics at its finest. Of course, Cruz wasn’t just going for cheap laughs at the expense of the Affordable Care Act. He knows it’s a short hop from Nigeria to Kenya for his Obama-hating Houston audience. Polls show up to two-thirds of self-described Republicans still harbor doubts that the president was born here, and even mainstream GOP leaders indulge rather than dispel those doubts. Cruz enjoys them. (Remember, his father told an audience that only “political correctness” keeps Republicans from telling Americans that Obama is Muslim.)

So, a reference to Africans? Check. A stereotype about people who either work for or use government services, like “scammer”? A reference to “email” that’s a stand-in for “something about the Internet these people probably don’t understand anyway”? Check. It took Newt Gingrich several tries to communicate to his audience that Obama suffers from “a Kenyan anti-colonial mind-set” and is “the food stamp president.” Cruz did it with one dumb joke.

The Texas demagogue also knew Obama supporters would likely see through his “joke” to its slick birtherism and borderline racism–and he didn’t care. In fact, that’s part of the fun.

At home in Houston Cruz also reprised his big applause line from his San Antonio visit on Saturday. “I’ve spent the past month in Washington, D.C.,” Cruz told the avid crowd. “It is terrific to be back in America.”

The Obamanoids are losing.

They're not very bright and they have no sense of humor.

Ted Cruz Spots a Tsunami

"Ted Cruz is our Tilly Smith.

Tilly Smith was a hero. Vacationing on a beach in 2004 in Thailand, the ten-year-old Tilly immediately recognized the signs of the approaching tsunami and quickly warned fellow beachgoers, in time to save over a hundred lives.

On that fateful afternoon when she first noticed the "sizzling" water rapidly filling the shoreline, Tilly recalled a recent geography lesson on tsunamis from school and began to shout an alarm. Fortunately, enough people -- beginning with her own family -- paid attention to Tilly and spread the word, saving everyone there.

We can imagine that many of the sunscreen-lathered beachgoers were at first annoyed by Tillie's bold interruption, and might even have called her a "wacko bird." Some may have been initially so irritated by her family's warning, ruining their little slice of paradise in the sand -- that they saw not a heroine, but an impudent little girl; or worse, called her names like "short-sighted fraud," "terrorist," "extremist," or "snake-oil salesman." Even though others could have observed the very same signs, they may not have recalled their own geography studies, and likely hesitated to heed Tilly's alarm -- wanting first to take a quick opinion poll from the rest of the in-crowd.

[SNIP]

....It's a good thing little Tilly didn't have the same attitude as the "Republican gray beards." She could have warned only her own family. Or she might have worried more about what others would think if she dared to shut down the beach party to get their attention. Or, cynically, Tilly might have concluded that since so many must have failed geography, some suffering would teach them to pay more attention -- to her and other like-minded thinkers -- the next time they faced a similar choice. That is -- if they survived.".........

Interesting - further into her rant she refers to a study done by the The Center for American Progress.

The poll [PDF is interesting (a diversity junky's dream) in how they've divided us up (note Figure 1 on page 12).

But better yet (and Walsh touches on this in her rant) on Pg 18 (Table 3) - it would seem that there are similar concerns by all groups.

Thus:

Note to GOP fainting goats - stop running away from conservative ideas!

Joan Walsh is a soldier in the Left’s mob of race baiters. She feeds into the myth of Republican racism and has often equated opposition to Obamacare as racism. Her use of the race card makes me think she is a tool of the Southern Poverty Law Center, a Communist front group.

Ted Cruz does not make dumb jokes, as implied by the person who wrote this screed.

He make jokes about intellectually and morally challenged people, who make themselves known by their yelp when the cast stone strikes them.

There is a certain honesty in succinct and earthy statements that summarize the failures and lapses of one’s opponents.

It’s a good joke.

This woman sees everything through the lens of racism.

Isn’t like the name ‘Cruz’ kinda minority sounding? Aren’t the Dems/Leftists the champions for the minorities?
Ah but some minorities don’t fit with their agenda-—so they are racists and bigots too. We get it.....

All lib/leftists, like Joan Walsh, have the same message: this filthy conservative is trying to derail the march to complete socialism, and he or she must be stopped. Walsh is one of the densest of the whole despicable lot, and her message is always the same: I will not try to debate the constitutional implications of what this particular conservative is doing....I will simply smear him or her at every opportunity. Simple smearing and invective will always be my “argument” when discussing conservatives. They never change.

We all know that "Cruz" is just an affectation so he can be elected in Texas. He's really a cousin of Tom Cruise...

The Nigerian email scammers could probably have written a better program than the Canadian losers who wrote this one.
Written on a no-bid contract by people who already had a history of failure. One has to wonder who got paid by the company in kickbacks.

Ted Cruz is taking heat and handling it like a Firefighter, pushing back.

The unabashed arrogance of these people. Yes, conservatives are just too stupid to understand the internet. By the way, how’s that healthcare.gov website going?
