Kasich forced it through by using an obscure legal authority called the ‘Controlling Board’, neatly sidestepping the legislature.

Yep. And it is why he's getting sued by Ohio opponents of Medicaid expansion.

Hospital lobbyists. They want to be able to bill their charity cases to SOMEBODY.

Ohio Ping
See many posts on the thread.

The decision to go to the controlling board undermines the integrity of elections as well as undermining the legislature’s decision to reject federal dollars which always have strings attached.

C’mon down to Texas!

I left Ohio for low tax Texas and love it.

No income tax, water and electricity are half the price of Ashtabula.

(Still root for the Brownies though)

Sorry, I know that allowing you to have medicaid would cost our state nothing

Medicaid is a state/federal plan. It most definitely costs the state.

As if the people of Ohio don’t help fund the federal government. They are paying for it whether its paid by federal or state dollars.

You are correct....WOW!!! As stated in Post #20, those states that expanded Medicaid will receive 100% reimbursement for people earning between 100 and 138 percent of the Federal Poverty Level.

As if we weren’t saying this all throughout the ACA debate, what a horrible mess!

Wow, what a sick scumbag Kasich turned out to be. I remember when he was a “rising star” in the GOP House, but then he suddenly up and quit. I always figured somebody has some pretty filthy dirt on him. Now I’m sure of it.

RE :”As if the people of Ohio don’t help fund the federal government. They are paying for it whether its paid by federal or state dollars.”

Well they in Ohio can pay the Obamacare taxes for it, turn down the funding then pay EVEN more state taxes to take care of those people's emergency room hospital visits,

or they can pay the same Obamacare taxes regardless but let the federal government pay for their voters health care in Medicaid .

Ohio isnt Texas. They want the better deal for themselves.

How many seniors (loyal GOP voters) turn down medicare after paying all those taxes?

I would say nationally this is a pretty popular thing by itself.

Free stuff, compassion, heal the sick, Santa Claus, compassion, everyone happy, cute puppy .....

GOP will never repeal this one for real, never, I would love to bet.

Maybe President Jarrett helped persuade Governor Kasich?

I’ve been trying to tell people here how much of an asshole kasich is for some time. He was the deciding vote in clinton’s gun ban after lying about being pro gun owner rights to get elected. And ask anyone clerk, server or flight attendant how he treats his lessors. To top that off, he championed a new law in ohio that subjects you to felony charges if the used car you bought has some manner of “hidden compartment” in it. I’ll be voting for whatever 3rd party is on the ballot against him.
