Darrell Issa to introduce immigration bill (House GOP begins Amnesty push next week...)
Politico ^ | 10/23/13 | SEUNG MIN KIM

Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) is planning to release legislation next week that would provide legal status for six years to undocumented immigrants in the United States, he said in an interview Wednesday.

Issa, an influential Republican who leads the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, described the legislation as a “come-from-the-shadows” effort that would allow the government to do a full accounting of those who are in the U.S. illegally. Immigrants in this new status would be able to travel to their native country while on this temporary visa, he said.

Say you give all 50 million illegal aliens a 6 year card plus what ever else you deem necessary. Now what?

What about the hundreds of thousands that continue to stream over the border daily? ICE greets them with a card and a goody bag?

this makes my case btter than I did ,read full article

However, assertions by Newt Gingrich that this action by Obama is an impeachable offense is silly. All Obama would have to do- and he has the words as cover- is claim prosecutorial discretion. Statements like this from Gingrich make me believe that he may have attended the Barack Obama School of Constitutional Law. Although not an impeachable offense, it certainly is in poor taste and it definitely sets a bad precedent that only reinforces the notion of an imperial presidency.

That’s the question. What does Issa do with them after 6 years? Deport them? And what about their offspring?

Did anyone ever stop to think. If you were really just a democrat plant in the Republican party. Then you would not care if the republican party’s base got so fed up with them that they would not vote for them. You would not care if the republican party got wiped out. In fact it could be the real plan all along. When that time comes then people like Issa can just switch to the democrat party and be among their true friends.

RE :”Bottom line: was Bush just flat out wrong when it came to immigration? YES. But he never abused the office as Obama is now, not even close.”

I recall libs crying Impeach Bush every day accusing him of all sorts of ridiculus claimed ‘crimes’ against the US. They more they did the more Republicans rallied behind him.

We have 3 branches of government, and two are roughly split in halves. They get to fight it out and we get to choose sides.

How about we start a recall process on Darrell Issa RIGHT NOW!!

We definitely sent a message to the Colorado reps - is this a possibility at all?

Thanks.

First, just FYI and others’ benefit, what you have now provided does not support the claim that G.W. Bush selectively enforced laws. However, it does seem (at first glance) to demonstrate some have in the past, all the way back to nearly the founding of this country.

So, I consider this an intellectual gain, as I at least learned something new today.

Secondly, there is this portion in what you just cited: “So, can the Administration refuse to defend a duly enacted law? Yes they can and they have provided (1) there is considered belief the provision in question is unconstitutional and (2) they reasonably believe their view will ultimately prevail upon judicial review.”

Now, what you cited was taking about Obama not defending DOMA in court, and also about him not enforcing current immigration law. The analysis of both situations I’ll leave to the reader to read for themselves however I think it’s also important to note that Obama is also selectively enforcing parts of the very law that unofficially bears his name. There is no way arbitrarily enforcing (or not enforcing in this case) the employer mandate (and maybe even the individual mandate if the Republicans really are that stupid) can or does fall into #1 above. At least, can you or anyone honestly believe Obama is going to claim that his own law, or portions thereof, are unconstitutional?

No, he’s not enforcing the employer mandate because it’s not convenient for him or his party, not because he believes it’s unconditional! And that, is NOTHING like any president has ever done.

And I’m quite certain Obama wouldn’t want #2 above. After all, by sheer dark magic (or blackmail) he somehow got Roberts to jump ship. I doubt he could repeat that again.

So he is acting in a way contrary and more recklessly than any president has in history, Democrat or Republican.

That’s just a fact, and to say otherwise is just playing into his relativistic plan that would suggest, “Hey guys, I’m not doing anything previous presidents haven’t done”.

So wetbacks would be able to go back where they came from? Great work Issa! Hell, they can already do that anytime they want. And give the lying SOB’s 6 years to get it going? Natchurlly they’ll have driver’s licenses to get there with. This kind of useless krap has to be beat down hard. Did we not already do a census in 2010 so we know who’s “in the shadows”? My machine doesn’t know how to spell “KRAP” in big enough letters to do justice.

Dont they use those taxpayer IDs to pay taxes??, not SS #s?

Not according to the SSA

Social Security Number — Deferred Action For Childhood Arrivals

• If the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) grants you Deferred Action status and employment authorization, you may be eligible for a Social Security number.

• After you receive your Employment Authorization Card (I-766) from USCIS, you can apply for a Social Security number.

Now that you mention SS, Obama’s idea has some merits. They come out of shadows and ID themselves, they work and pay SS taxes (To) our parents and since they have zero rights to be here we can boot them out before they retire so they get nothing, a great way to fix entitlements. Just got to cut out those food stamps.

Now I understand why the GOP is called the Stupid Party. First SS is a pay as you go system. Today's workers pay for today's retirees. SS has been running in the red since 2010 and will continue to do until around 2033 when benefits will have to be cut when the SSTF runs out of IOUs.

These mostly low pay workers will pay very little to offset the program's annual deficits. And they will be eligible for things like disability benefits and their spouses and children could get survivor benefits.

Good luck on kicking them out before they accrue 40 quarters worth of eligibility. In fact, you know and I know they will never be kicked out once legalized. They will grow old and collect SS benefits like everyone else thus adding to the unfunded liability of SS.

I believe unclaimed/uncollected social security payments attributable to an illegal alien of Mexican origin are remitted to the Mexican government.

Once contributions go into SS, they lose all identity and belong to the SSA to do whatever they want to do with them. None of the money is remitted to any foreign government.

Obama is only in office ~ 3 more years so unless he gets an amnesty bill that gives them a green like card they are taking a risk signing up.

There is no risk. Once legalized, they will eventually be given a green card and citizenship. Cantor, Goodlatte, Ryan, and Issa are working on that now. You can't unring a bell as we are finding out with Obamacare.

Either way, they get to stay, get benefits, get education, etc.

But not the same benefits. If de facto amnesty is the same as amnesty, then why the push to make them legal? It should be obvious that some amnesties are more equal than others. McCain and Rubio use de facto to fool and deceive.

U.S. immigration enforcement’s ‘prosecutorial discretion’ history dates to John Lennon

“In the context of immigration, the Obama administration has stretched prosecutorial discretion beyond all recognition,” said lawyer Kris Kobach, who has represented several cities and states, including Farmers Branch, in legislation targeting illegal immigration.

Kobach, who is Kansas secretary of state, was among the attorneys for 10 deportation agents in a Dallas federal suit aimed at reining in many forms of prosecutorial discretion.

In late July, Dallas federal Judge Reed O’Connor dismissed the case for lack of jurisdiction. A month later Kobach filed a motion to alter the judgment.

In a recent federal filing, Kobach said the government’s August order “brazenly” creates an additional immigrant class that is effectively immune from deportation.

I hope all of you that are calling this number are lying about where you are from...If you call, and you do not live in California, you will immediately be transferred to a recorded message that will allow you to leave a comment about this and any other issue...

It seems they have been prepared for the backlash this is producing and do not have time for anyone to bother them at this particular juncture...

The polls cannot possibly open fast enough as far as I am concerned...

But I am concerned that the political attention span of most people is about that of a gnat...

It would be neat to see a lot of these shmups primaried out of existance, but that may be too much to hope for...

Might as well get a tally of who is going to support this effort, your own representatives office should be able to handle your call in that regard...

I have a feeling most will not give you an answer, because they’ll tell you that they have not had a chance to review this proposal...

Which is bullsh!t from the get go...

I would love to see a nationwide backlash against every single one of these absolute wastes of air...

Timothy,

American families have been under attack for the last five years from the Obama Democrats’ liberal agenda of higher taxes, reckless spending, and job-killing regulations.

Wages have stagnated, unemployment remains unacceptably high, food, gas and health care prices continue to rise - all thanks to President Obama’s radical “fundamental transformation” of America.

But our nation is poised for a major breakout led by conservative Republicans who believe more freedom, smaller government, lower taxes, and protecting individual rights is the right path forward.

The only way we can enact our positive vision for America is to elect more Republicans from the county courthouse to the statehouse to the corridors of Congress in 2014.

And there is only one national Republican organization that is building the grassroots infrastructure to grow our Party and elect GOP candidates up and down the ticket: the RNC.

President Obama is desperate and determined to bring back Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House and keep Harry Reid in charge of the U.S. Senate. With a Democrat-led Congress to do his bidding, America will continue to have schools that fail our children, an economy that kills jobs and a system that breeds hopelessness.

It’s up to you, me and the RNC to ensure Obama DOES NOT succeed!

Please contribute $15 today to help our Party register new voters, energize our base, and help Republicans win in 2013, 2014, and 2016!

Sincerely,
Newt Gingrich

RE :”No, he’s not enforcing the employer mandate because it’s not convenient for him or his party, not because he believes it’s unconditional! And that, is NOTHING like any president has ever done.”

You definitely rushed the above but I understand what you were trying to say.

Obama is not enforcing immigration for those who apply (who are probably are not convinced criminals) because it was politically advantageous for him to do that especially in an election year 2012.
And since it seemed to work he gets to continue it four more years. Did Romney even ever challenge that in the race?

Republicans like Bush can claim some part of a bill (or many bills) is unconstitutional in his eyes and if he did the constitution gives him a specific remedy, the veto. But that would have been very inconvenient for him to lose the whole bill that has stuff he needs. So he signed it saying "I will ignore these parts"

Now watch, if a GOP ever wins the White House you can bet that he will take advantage of the imperial presidency created by Obama, and I bet Levin advises him to..

'Selective memory? Mitt’s oft-repeated stance was repeal and REPLACE Obamacare...presumably with something similar to his socialized Massachusetts program.'

HUH?? YOU MUST BE READING FROM A DIFFERENT PAGE...HERE'S WHAT THE GREAT MITT SAYS ON HUGH HEWITT'S PROG.

READ AND LEARN SMALL GRASS A HOPPAH....

HUGH HEWITT: Now yesterday, the President’s campaign manager said that you are the godfather of Obamacare. I know that’s not the case. I know you didn’t cut Medicare or raise taxes, and you didn’t change every American’s health care plan. But just for the moment, if that’s who you are, can you make the Democrats an office they can’t refuse to repeal it?

MITT ROMNEY: I can tell you one thing. If I’m the godfather of this thing, then it gives me the right to kill it. And if I’m the president, I will get rid of Obamacare. I will stop it in its tracks on Day One, and get it repealed.

WHAT PART OF THAT "GIT RID AND REPEAL PART' DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND SENORITA SELECTIVA?
