Study: Average Premiums for Young Women to Increase 193% (Obamacare's War on Women)
Washington Free Beacon ^ | October 23, 2013 | Elizabeth Harrington

Healthy young women will see their premiums rise by an average of almost 200 percent under Obamacare, with increases occurring in all 50 states and the District of Columbia, according to a new study.

Earlier this month, the American Action Forum released an analysis that found the average 30-year-old male nonsmoker would see his premiums rise 260 percent.

Using the same metrics, the organization found that the Affordable Care Act (ACA) would be just as harsh on women trying to purchase bronze level plans, the cheapest insurance available in the marketplace.

“All 50 states and the District of Columbia saw insurance rate increases, with 42 of those states experiencing triple digit percentage increases in premiums for the lowest-priced coverage,” the study said. “Pre-ACA premiums for a 30-year-old nonsmoking woman average $74.49 monthly, while post-ACA premiums average $188.72 per month, a $114.23, or 153 percent, increase.”

Overall, states averaged a 193 percent increase in premiums for 30-year-old female nonsmokers.

I get sick every time I see these dummies with their “I LOVE MY OBAMACARE” bs.

So it’s the under 30’s that voted for this idiocy. Welcome to your nightmare ass holes! Perhaps now you’ll try and learn something about history and economics?

They voted for the increase, so no sympathy here.

The irony of it all is that, once they realize that it isn’t free or cheaper than it was previously, they’ll opt to pay the penalty.

Death spiral...

The problem is that you can't insure things that are almost-guaranteed expenses. You still end up paying (through insurance) and everyone in between profits. Besides that, demand goes up because people who would never bother getting medicines and checkups etc do so because "it's free".

Insurance is supposed to be for somewhat unlikely events that would be devestating if they were to occur. It's supposed to be cheap enough so that it's better to pay the premium than take the risk.

How come I learned this in Economics 101 but people coming up with this stuff are clueless? At the very least, the program should not be mandated. Let people make their own decisions and (I'm sorry) die in the streets if they can't afford the treatment and didn't get the insurance.

It's what we used to call survival of the fittest.

The empty headed obama drones will be crying the loudest when they see how much free health care costs them. I have no sympathy for idiots who blindly follow corrupt scumbags. It's too bad their stupidity is also hurting millions of good people.

The “media” will set about directing them to believe this is Ted Cruz’ fault, especially among the single women, because they could never entertain the idea their surrogate husband Obama could be at fault.

I don't even know if they are required to take Econ 101 anymore (and if they are, who knows what the Marxist professors are really teaching them?). The extent of their economic "knowledge" is basically reading whatever fact-twisted hairball Paul Krugman has coughed up today.

Actually 29 seems to be the cut off.
People under 30 can actually only choose catastrophic and pay nothing all the while getting free preventive care( I can’t find what that actually means)
They would though have to pay $6250 before they get gov’t care.
but the odds are good for them
Even after age 30 you can make up to 400% of poverty level and still have the taxpayer subsidize you . get subsidized for premiums, copays and even deductible

It is the reat of us who make above 400% of poverty level who will pay out the nose AND pay for the rest’s insurance.

I hope there are enough females who will get hosed by obamacare that they will finally start complaining
