He should’ve seen this coming
Richmond Times-Dispatch ^ | 10/26/13 | Michael Carroll

Posted on 10/26/2013 2:59:39 PM PDT by Captain Jack Aubrey

Editor, Times-Dispatch:

I am self-employed and I pay for my own health insurance. I assumed I would pay a surcharge for the Affordable Care Act every month. I assumed incorrectly that I would have the freedom to choose, that my future and security were in my hands. My insurance agent visited my office and asked me what provision of the ACA I wanted to sign up for. I thought he was kidding; he wasn’t. I do not have a choice. My policy will go from $325 a month to more than $900 a month, my coverage will be nowhere near what I have today and I must change my family doctor, eye doctor and dentist. My deductible will be as high as $8,000.

This act is now a federal law and there are no private insurance policies available — none — at any cost. I actually felt sorry for my insurance agent as I could see his frustration and weariness at having to explain this to his clients over and over.

My impression was that this act was to assist those who could not assist themselves, to provide help to those in need. I was fundamentally supportive and in agreement with this concept.

I should have seen this coming simply by the fact the lawmakers exempted themselves, their families and their staff. If a car mechanic will not drive a car after he performs major repairs, then the car is probably not safe for me and my family.

Why $900 a month for an inferior product? The middle-class citizen will carry this burden, the rich can pay cash, the poor pay nothing, and the folks in the middle pay everything.

Michael Carroll. Richmond.

My actual reaction is unprintable. Did you vote for Obama? You did? Then comes the unprintable portion.

Thanks, moron. That’s the closest I can get and not be bleeped.

Probably will be long lines to get bread. I remember seeing those lines on the news in the 70’s/80’s (USSR). O’bomber voters will just have to choke on the poop.

“It’s about killing freedom. It’s about wealth transfer from whitey to non-whitey. It’s about punishing success and hard work. It’s tyranny and dictatorship. That’s what it is.”

I think you’d be shocked how many whites are on the receiving end of this; there are not enough non-whites in this country (yet) to elect Obama twice. The Dems have marginalized and dumbed down enough whites to split the vote.

“The only good thing about this is that 50% of the people crying over their new insurance costs are people who voted for obumbler.”

More like 4%; the 47% still won’t pay anything, and the difference that put him over the top will. This is a massive middle class tax hike.

The worst part is that this is only the insurance part of Obamacare. Wait until they get to the medical care part — if it will even be available.

On the good side he'll never have to pay the $8,000 in deductibles because it doesn't cost anything when you can't get an appointment. He can put those savings towards a good funeral plan.

The moron should be proud of himself: this law will assist those who are in need, and all others who don’t want to pay for their own health care needs. At his expense, of course. That’s the problem with communism: nice idea, until you try to implement it in real life: it becomes a nightmare for everyone.

The only good thing about this is that 50% of the people crying over their new insurance costs are people who voted for obumbler.

That's not the only good thing. There are going to be a lot of good deals on real estate and other real property being sold off in desperate attempts to survive.

I can't believe this guy is an obama voter. An obama voter would NEVER believe that and would NEVER say that.

He only said it when he realized what he helped to create.

These Idiots thought the Evil Rich would take up the slack.

He would have brought up Obama by name if he had Voted against him, just like any one of us would have done.

To help pay for the inferior product for those who can't (or won't) pay.

What many people don't understand is that those getting a subsidy get different coverage than those who don't, they get a smaller deductible (as low as $0), co-payments (as low as $3), co-insurance (as low as 6%) on top of the subsidy.

That is a damn good product for under $60/month for all ages.

This scumbag was more than happy to vote for his friends, neighbors, and perfect strangers to have even more money confiscated from them so they could be "charitable" at the point of a gun. Now the scumbag can eat it.

30% of Americans who are too young for Medicare are on Medicaid, i.e. not paying a dime for their medical care. And Obamacare wants you to think that’s not enough and that we need to sign up millions more. What’s wrong with this picture? Why hasn’t anyone been pointing out that 30% of America on single payer health care is enough without adding more to the mix, and subsidizing still more than that with partially paid insurance?

It’s not a race thing. Whites are the biggest group on food stamps. Trust me, come to Pennsylvania and you can find all the mooching white trash bums you want.

Maybe he was just trying to soften his right-wing stance to the skeptical reader by pretending to be for health care for the poor in theory.
