McDonald's has said it is to stop serving Heinz ketchup in its stores after 40 years.
The world's biggest fast-food chain said it would drop the ketchup after Bernardo Hees, the former head of rival Burger King, took over as Heinz's chief executive.
"We have decided to transition our business to other suppliers over time," McDonald's said.
In February, Heinz was purchased in a $28bn (£17.3bn) takeover.
McDonald's said that it would work with Heinz "to ensure a smooth and orderly transition of the McDonald's restaurant business", which has 34,000 restaurants around the world.

I was hoping it was a protest against the Kerry’s.
They quit using Heinz ketchup in most franchises in the US ages ago.
It is only used in the Northeast area around PA these days, iirc.
Been that way for a long time, I believe.
“The impact of the change may be tasted more overseas. In the U.S., McDonald’s uses Heinz products only in Pittsburgh and Minneapolis restaurants.”

Yeah ... I think terayza is chomping down about two bunches of those grapes ... a day.
This house has stopped purchasing Heinz products since 2003 and Tereeeeeeeeeeeeeeza wanted to keep the Heinz name...
Besides directly benefiting tons of hideous Liberal causes, Heinz ketchup is made with high fructose corn syrup (HFCS), which has been increasingly implicated as a contributing factor to any number of serious health issues.
Hunt’s ketchup has no HFCS.
You mean that it wasn’t enough that Ter-ray-za Heinz Kerry is a big abortion supporter?
I actually find this very funny. To think that Hees is the chief cook and keeper of the secret ketchup formula in all that is Burger King and to think that has anything to do with ketchup, regardless of the new CEO is BK or not, is patently absurd.
The truth is that Mc D’s actually other things to think about.....like pulp paper buns, kangaroo burger meat, mystical fries that turn to cardboard in minutes, industrial dust shakes and a host of other things to think about.
Very seldom do you see Heinz run coupons or sales in these parts. Do to the recent corporate takeover, they are also seriously cutting the number of people working for them in the Pittsburgh area. Buying local carries a lot of cachet around here for some reason, a lot more than anywhere else I have lived.
‘Bout time.
I stopped using that stuff when I learned it was associated with the ignorant Pelosi-sl*t.
OH MY GOSH!!!
Whew! I can rest easy and get on with the rest of my day in peace now...
Good to know this important news flash!
heheheh...
my thought exactly!!
:)
Padum-tshhhhhhh...
