So, “being a dick” means that the officer is justified sticking the muzzle of an AR15 in his face?

That is so un necessary and should be a violation of department policy.
You never point a gun at anyone unless you are going to shoot them.

Nope. It means there’s a possibility that in the few minutes before this photo was taken, the d!ck was mouthing off and not cooperating.
I was an MP with the New York Guard. We interfaced with cops, even got some cop training, a very abbreviated course, of course, but one of the primary things I came away with is UNLESS YOU ARE ARRESTING FOR A FELONY, or UNLESS YOU KNOW THE SUSPECT IS ARMED AND HOSTILE, you do not cover a person with your muzzle. EVER. It was, in itself, a criminal charge to do so.

I try to see what's in front of me.
What do you see here?
Do you see any firearms safety violations?
Do you see the clear and immediate threat of deadly force?
The peasant looks bored, not properly cowered, should he be shot for failure to fear?
Do you see excessive force?
What exactly do you see in the photo that tells you this is appropriate police/innocent citizen interaction?
Would you support the alleged CHP officer if he shot the guy in the face for driving during a manhunt?
If not, why not?
Eight questions. I'd be astonished if you answer any three.
You do NOT point a firearm at a person for mouthing off and not cooperating. You point a firearm at someone under felony arrest, or if you see a weapon and the person is hostile, or physically approaches you in a menacing manner (which is sometimes a felony anyways, against a cop). You can arrest someone for a misdemeanor if they mouth off. No need for the East Germany treatment!!!!

They’re looking for an armed killer, not a bicycle thief. They have to assume the possibility that the person in the car IS armed.
Word to the wise: Anyone coming up on a roadblock with heavily armed cops ought to polite & cooperative.
