Heh. I’ve seen Jarrett’s name pop up every day for at least a week in different papers. Must be some kind of record. Perhaps FINALLY she’s losing her chokehold on the media and everything she filters upstream or downstream from her puppet. I’ve wanted her gone from day one. Even more than her puppet.

Maybe we’re finally there. I hope she goes out screaming.

I agree (of course)..

All modern presidents have had their advisors, confidantes, favorites, hatchet men, etc. However, all these roles have rarely been contained in a single person. Due to the pressures of their respective jobs, presidents are often forced to part company with once-trusted lieutenants; occasionally the lieutenants bring about their own demise through disloyalty, errors in judgment, etc. The separations may be painful but the president must save his own neck.

This is a morbidly fascinating situation because its somewhat unique. Even Obama’s most rabid supporters concede he is highly, even completely reliant on Jarrett. Obama’s traumatic childhood stemming from his mother’s unedifying, desperate global bed-hopping means he is unable to recognize or demonstrate loyalty; all so-called relationships are utilitarian barter transactions to him - money, influence, votes. Jarrett is an absolutely toxic character but, regrettably, has not yet crossed the threshold of a political liability from Obama’s perspective. But even when she gets there will Obama turn on her as he has so many others (Rev Wright)? Does she have trump cards that will prevent or avenge such a schism? Is his fear of facing the office alone enough to protect her?

With or without a split, can she be held to account for her decisions?
