"logic to the situation"

I'll add many well-meaning conservatives firmly believe putting the children of these leeches in non-government schools will eventually boost them into independence. It won't. I'm all for improving schools, but there are millions of Americans, because of their low IQs, who will never be more than leeches and/or criminals. Time for mass sterilization.

Buying groceries at Walmart invariably involves paying for the groceries of the fat woman in line ahead of me.

Anyone else here old enough to remember when being on aid was looked down upon?

Yup. Some time ago, I did the online sample application for EBT, and was shocked to find out we qualify for benefits. I never applied, but was curious how much you can make and still qualify. There is NO way I am shopping with other peoples' money.

How will they know there is 5% less on their card?

They need to do what other families do. Downsize the budget. Eat less expensive foods, and learn to grow your own stuff.

Beans,Potatoes, onions, and cornbread. Makes a filling meal. And you can grow most of it yourself. Makes the food dollars stretch a lot.

The food prices have been greatly inflated, and packages downsized. Since we didn’t get a big temporary increase like families on SNAP did, we had to adjust our grocery selections to fit our budget.

One big boo hoo example they were giving a while back was the mom buying a burger for $1 at McDonald’s, because that was all she could afford for her kid.

She would be better off buying a can of pork and beans for 50 cents. That’s 3 servings (about 17cents per serving) - food for the whole day. Milk costs about 20 cents per serving. A banana about 17 cents. Corn bread about 17 cents. Add some green beans for 13 cents. Grand total cost for the meal is 84 cents. Plenty left for a slice of onion and maybe spinach or tomato instead of the green beans.

Omit the cornbread and subsitute whole wheat bread, and use sliced tomatoes instead of green beans, and you have a great fast food meal-no cooking required.

Ironically, If you could hire the poor at just a dollar an hour they could immediately increase their incomes by $160/hr.

All income earned below “minimum wage” could be tax free. You’d see a renaissance across every poor community.

Every single adult person on welfare should be required to look for a job in the first hours of the morning, then report to a county work crew.

They should be mandated to put in a few hours a day, at least three days a week cleaning roadsides, parks, picnic areas....something. Just something to help save taxpayers a lil money.

Thanks.

But then one of the scared angry recipients waddles down to Walmart and finds that the card still works just fine?

I do not expect a riot, hope it is not wishful thinking. I think the largess of what they get through all programs, they will not even notice 5%.

If they do riot, they will not engender sympathy overall. When they show on TV the lines of people waiting at the food bank for their free Thanksgiving meals, lots of people comment that most of them are overweight, and many of them have expensive hair dos and manicures. Let them show their true faces to the taxpayers . . .

If they riot they end up destroying the small businesses in their own neighborhoods . . .

Whatever happened to home ec in public schools?”

The same thing that happened to math, English and reading. Not sure exactly what they teach any more. Everyone in my era took cooking and sewing in high school plus we helped our mother cook at home. Of course we grew up before Mickey D’s was a household word.

I taught my grandson how to sew on a button, mend a minor tear and cook some basic food - things even my DIL can’t or won’t do. My son does all the cooking in their house. Really wish high schools would at least teach a life skills class but they’d probably have trouble finding skilled teachers.

“How come all the people in the pictures are black? There are more white people, numerically, on food stamps than blacks.”

Because it fits the socialists’ game plan which the media is playing a leading role in: Create racial tension by inciting one race, in this case black, to escalate its frustration into rioting. When chaos ensues is the socialists’ time to make their move and take over.

In my family, we were poor, but there was no such thing as welfare.

Now that I am much older and disabled, I wonder: How do they figure I’m going to lose 16 meals a month on the dollar they took out of my original $16, which was only $10 a few years ago?

Some welfare folks need to learn how to budget their funds and prepare inexpensive meals. I got no pity for them.

There was a wrk rule passed with welfare reform in the 90’s. conveniently unconstitutionally “suspended” by king soetoro. Wouldn’t want to inconvenience his and holder’s peeps.

In PA there are sooooo many people on varying programs because they are straight up lazy and playing the victim card. The big thing around my parts is getting on disability for addiction (alcoholism in the cases I know). It’s disgusting as these people CAN work, they choose not to and think the money just magically comes from the state.

Maybe it's time we started to seriously talk about the lack of jobs. D'ya think?
Then bring back the Welfare to Work Program, so these people can get off their lazy butts and buy their own food. Problem solved.

Sounds like she is hoping for a riot and trying to encourage one. So they can’t buy as much junk food as usual and that requires a riot?
