The data hub behind the Obamacare website was "experiencing an outage" on Tuesday night, state and federal officials said, prohibiting customers from submitting new applications.
Verizon, which provides some technology services behind HealthCare.gov, said federal officials asked the company to provide additional computing and storage ability.
"At the request of HHS's deputy CIO, we are now undertaking infrastructure maintenance, which should be complete overnight," spokesman Jeffrey Nelson said. "We anticipate the strengthened infrastructure will help eliminate application downtimes."
An official with the agency that oversees HealthCare.gov acknowledged the systems outage, and said the website would be brought back online when maintenance was complete.

Hmmm. So a big part of the backend seems to be working only every other day lately.
.
No, FUBO
OMG!!! I remember those! I guess I am old.
I keep wondering if *somebody* is intentionally sabotaging it. Things that make you go hmmmm.
Glitch, you ain’t seen nothing yet. Just wait until there are payment problems, try and get that solved. Just wait until there are medical claims with denials etc.
Again ?
It was down hard over the weekend, had a short outage on Monday morning, and then went down again on Tuesday ...
It isn't. Those who say this debacle was intentional to pave the way for single-payer give these idiots too much credit. This is actually a complete disaster that will inspire all sane Americans (and, amazingly, there all some left) to let it be known they will NEVER trust something as important as their health to this bloated, inept and dishonest "government."
Obama's pretty much lost the mainstream media, too. No one wants to be remembered as supporting ineptitude.
No need for sabotage. People keep giving the Obamanauts too much credit. I'm in the same age bracket as these yay-hoos. High school and college in the Reagan era. These were the people trying to organize "demonstrations" when the "demonstration" era was over by more than a decade. They were '60s wannabes when the '60s were lonnnnnng over. Inept then, inept now.
All your database really does belong to Verizon.
Or denial of claims due to bad information.

I am as cynical as one possibly can be about politics and this even amazes me.
Covered California executive director Peter Lee told the Chronicle editorial board that he expects 800,000 to 900,000 people to lose their non-grandfathered private insurance policies on Dec. 31, thanks to the Affordable Care Act. (This figure which is higher than past numbers reported does not include small business coverage.) The individual market is changing dramatically, Lee said. What about President Obamas promise that if people liked their plan, they could keep it? I think it was not well stated, Lee answered. Obamas rhetoric may have been an inarticulate way of describing what the realities are.
Quickly, the Reality of ObamaScare made her smile disappear!
Only hundreds have been able to sign up for a health care plan at the Obamacare websites. The Wall Street Journal reported:
Okay now we will try the landline # 1-800-318-2596 listed above or 1-800-318-2596 = 1-800-FAU-CKYO.
