Michael Yowell, 43, was executed for killing his parents in their Lubbock home on Mother's Day weekend in 1998 after his father caught him stealing money from his wallet. Yowell opened a gas valve when he fled the house, causing an explosion that fatally wounded his grandmother. Yowell's daughters and ex-wife watched his execution from a window in the death chamber.
A Texas man was put to death Wednesday evening for killing his parents at their Lubbock home 15 years ago during a drug-influenced rampage that also left his 89-year-old grandmother dead.
Michael Yowell, 43, told witnesses, including his daughters and his ex-wife, that he loved them.

surprised even a texas defense atty couldn’t get him to life without parole because of being out of his mind on drugs at the time the murder was committed.
Way to long on death row.
I hope they read him his Miranda rights before they dusted him. If not, the liberal DemocRATS and their “judges” are going to be really PO’d.
I’m not.
In west Texas there is still the feeling, paticularly west of the Pecos, that some folks like this simply “need killing,” and so they did.
Just far, far too long after what he did.
Anyhow, he tried to steel from his parents because of drugs, got caught while doing so, and then killed them. He was crazed alright...a murderous rage, but not so out of his mind that he didn’t attempt to cover it up, which left his grandmother dead too.
Beginning to understand just how the justice system is so corrupt...I still support the death penalty somewhat.
So, while I do not have a problem here, I do question future cases just because of our political prosecutors and judges.
We seem to have become a nation of outcomes instead of justice and it is a bit disturbing...

Ahhhh,, and there’s the rub. “You were so crazy you didn’t know what you were doing. Why, you were right out of your mind?”
“Yes”.
“Then why did you try to cover your tracks if you didn’t know right from wrong?”

I wonder if he “Yowelled” when they stuck the needle in his arm?
Why does it take so freaking long to put these murders to sleep. Justice delayed is justice denied.
He was white. The federal judges will let the state execute white folks.
Texas didn’t have a life without parole option 15 years ago.
