Poll: Virginia governor race a nailbiter

With less than a week until Election Day, Virginia gubernatorial hopeful Terry McAuliffe holds a slim lead over Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli in a tightening race, according to a new poll on Wednesday.

McAuliffe leads Cuccinelli among likely voters 45 percent to 41 percent, with 9 percent for Libertarian candidate Robert Sarvis, according to a Quinnipiac University poll. The edge is within the poll’s margin of error.

The poll also found that if Sarvis were not in the race, likely voters would split for McAuliffe 47 percent to 45 percent, which Quinnipiac describes as “too close to call.”

Last week, Quinnipiac polling showed McAuliffe up 46 percent to 39 percent.

Four percent of likely voters are still undecided, and 7 percent of those who chose a candidate said they might change their mind.

Only 62 percent of voters who chose Sarvis said they would definitely vote for him, with 18 percent saying the were likely to change their minds.

McAuliffe leads by double digits among women and independents, with Cuccinelli holding a 6 point lead among men.

With Nov. 5 falling on an off-election year, experts say turnout will be key to who wins the election on Tuesday.

Quinnipiac surveyed 1,182 likely voters from Oct. 22 to 28 for the poll, which has an error margin of plus or minus 2.9 percentage points.

The fix and fraudulent ballots are in. We’re a banana republic now. All elections are fixed by the regime.

How big of a Losertarian idiot do you have to be to stay in a race that will hand the governorship to a jerk like McAuliffe? I haven’t seen this level of arrogant stupidity since Todd Akin.

Wasn’t the Obama-Romney race too close to call as the election drew near?

Sarvis is no Libertarian...he's a Dim plant. New Dim game plan.

Praying Cuccinelli can win this, in spite of the evil doer's meddling.

Excellent news and if Cuccinelli keeps the momentum he’ll likely win. McAuliff is scared. What does the GOP GOTV effort look like?

HI THERE, VA VOTERS, did you know Freddie Mac is located in (drum roll, please) McLean, Virginia (Terry's hometown)?

Fannie Mae is located in Wash, DC.....and both are very troubling quasi govt agencies subsidized and bailed out by taxpayers.

============================================

SALIENT POINTS

<><> A recent Inspector General's report claims Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are masking billions of dollars in losses.

<><>Fannie/Freddie are centerpieces of the criminal enterprise called the Democrat Party-—appointed Dem cronies and collaborators loot the organization, get cushy jobs, bonuses, etc. Fannie Mae’s political machine dispenses campaign contributions, jobs to friends and relatives of legislators, hires armies of lobbyists (even paying lobbyists not to lobby against it), pays academics who wrote papers validating the sub-prime home ownership mania, and spreads “charitable” contributions to housing advocates across the congressional map.

In sum, Fannie Mae serves as an industrial-sized patronage factory — sharing profits with political allies, spreading taxpayer funds to voting blocs——like ethnic groups-——and doling out jobs to left-wing academics, Washington has-beens and back-scratching cronies.

Franklin Raines, Clinton appointee to Fannie Mae.

THIS IS AN OFFSHORE WIRE TRANSFER ALERT--POLS READY TO CASH-IN BIGTIME: Obama, himself, says it’s time to ‘turn the page’ on Fannie and Freddie
MarketWatch | 7/24/13 | FR Posted by illiac

Obama's July speech on the US economy spelled out the beginning of the end for federally-controlled mortgage buyers Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. “We’ll work with both parties to turn the page on Fannie and Freddie, and build a housing finance system that’s rock-solid for future generations,” Obama said, according to a copy of his prepared remarks.

The House Financial Services Committee approved a bill in July that would get rid of the firms in five years, to be replaced by a National Mortgage Market Utility to help "securitize" mortgages. (Excerpt) more at blogs.marketwatch.com

NOTE WELL WHAT OBAMA "FORGOT" TO MENTION Page A15 WSJ report entitled “Treasury’s Fannie Mae Heist“.

WSJ excerpt: The Federal government is seizing the substantial profits of the government-chartered mortgage firms, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, taking for itself the property and potential gains of private investors the government induced to help prop up these companies. This conduct is intolerable.” A scathing article follows--a must read.

Internal polling must’ve told the rats this several days ago. Hence the visit by ‘the won’ to shore up Mc.

Sarvis needs to throw his support to Cuccinelli. That’s where victory lies. He’s in the catbird seat to pull solid libertarian concessions out of not just Cuccinelli, but the GOP in general. Sarvis would be great in several posts in VA. Let him be a tiger on local regs blocking growth and jobs in VA.

The Cuccinelli GOTV effort is the best I've ever seen in this area of the Commonwealth. I've seen nothing of the TMac campaign and constant operation of the Cuccinelli offices. This is far beyond last year's operation imho and no opposition like the OFA ground game for TMac.

This poll reflects the tightening that I’ve been seeing on the ground here in VA the past two weeks. McAuliffe has made a critical mistake by getting Bloomberg, Clinton, and now Obama Biden into the race. The Obamacare mess is really showing up when I’m door knocking. Yesterday for example in one case a guy who hadn’t been following the race closely said that he was voting Cuccinelli because his health plan had been cancelled and the new one had doubled his premium. Another lady said that she had been undecided until she saw a news report that Obama was coming to campaign for McAuliffe. We can win this thing even with the fake libertarian stoner in the race.

Certainly we can. This is not a Presidential year not a congressional year. We can win this.

With early (and often) voting already in, I am not optimistic about Cuccinelli winning as he would in a completely fair election.

“The fix and fraudulent ballots are in. We’re a banana republic now. All elections are fixed by the regime.”

Maybe so, but if this jerk Sarvis were not in the mix, vote fraud would likely be impossible. Robert Sarvis is this year’s Todd Akin. He’s today’s “slinky.” He is really worthless, but it “fun” for some to “push him down the stairs.” America is getting the government it “deserves.”

Its very good. We have a growing army of volunteers. I’ve been out nearly every day the last two weeks. Ken has really started hitting Obamacare hard and tying McAuliffe to it and Rand Paul coming to campaign for him has given him a boost. McAuliffe is also managing to do what he does so well which is get overconfident as he did in the 2009 primary race which he lost in the last two weeks of that race. The first mistake was bring Mayor Bloomberg into the race. The second mistake was bringing Bill Clinton into the race and then having Clinton go on and on about how Terry loves Obamacare. The third and I believe fatal mistake is bring Obama, Biden, and Michelle Obama into the race.

Regardless we need everyone who can to get their head in this game and help win Virginia. It is our chance to rebuke Obama and deal not just a blow against Obama but also the Clintons.
