MOBILE, Alabama – Influential conservative radio talk-show host Mark Levin endorsed Orange Beach businessman Dean Young for Alabama's 1st District congressman during his radio show Thursday.
Levin, in making his endorsement, called Young a "wholly decent man" and a "conservative" while blasting former state senator Bradley Byrne for receiving the endorsement and financial backing of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
"If you believe in individual liberty and the Constitution, then we need more men and women to stand up for you," Levin said. "You have an opportunity in the 1st District of Alabama to make a difference."
Young strategist Jonathan Gray praised Levin as a "fine American" and a "strong conservative who "understands the problems facing" the county and who "teaches the conservative values we need to get us back on track."
Alex Schriver, Byrne's campaign manager, said his candidate is focused on voter turnout. "In these final four days, we're focused on talking to our supporters and make sure they are turning out to vote on Tuesday," he said.
Levin also criticized a powerful Byrne supporter -- the Chamber of Commerce – calling the group as supporters of amnesty for illegal aliens and the federal stimulus package while "trashing" U.S. Sens. Ted Cruz and Mike Lee.
Levin said that while Young would be "a hell of a member of Congress," Byrne would be a "hell of a member of the Chamber of Commerce."
The Chamber's endorsement, made on Tuesday, prompted Young to criticize the organization by claiming it was supporters of BP and President Barack Obama's immigration policy.

I may be wrong, but I think this is Bonner’s old seat. He retired (good riddance).
Young is the anti-establishment candidate. He’s what Alabama deserves.
He needs to get on the Jeff Sessions bandwagon.
I dont know if Sessions would or could endorse a candidate if there is some state GOP rule against it.
The RNC and their greedy pulled back wives need to be neutralized.

But Byrne doesn't seem to mind the comparison, saying that he is "not going to be confrontational just for the sake of being confrontational."
"I'm not going to call people names, he says. "And I'm going to try to find ways to work with people to fix the problems we've got in the federal government."
"I have no interest in going up there and trying to feed into whatever the circus mentality's been in Washington," Byrne said. "I want to go up there and get something done."

Personally, I would prefer those DC animals do absolutely nothing, rather than "get something done".
And the US Chamber of Commerce does need to be blasted. Blasted off the face of the earth. All they want is cheaper labor for more profit. I don’t mind people making money but enough is enough and enough is never enough for some greedy bastards.
Last poll I saw had Young in front.
Suspect Byrne would toe the GOP establishment line, while Young is more likely to rock the boat.
Byrne was the front runner in the last governor election, and was defeated in the primary via crossover votes from the teachers union because he supported cutting the union down to size and ticked them off when he ran the state’s historically corrupt community college system and managed to clean it up somewhat. (Ironically, the current governor, Robert Bentley, benefitted from the ploy and then presided over the legislation that took all of the union’s power away). So Byrne is not altogether a bad guy, but Young is more likely to support Tea Party goals.
Mary, Mark Levin had previously endorsed the pro-homosexual Quinn Hillyer, who was running against Dean Young and the others in the Republican primary. When Hillyer lost, he endorsed Bradley Byrne, the Democrat-turned-"Republican" who Dean Young is now facing. It could be that Mark Levin was misadvised, but at least he's come around to the true conservative in the race.
To clarify, when Hillyer lost, it was Hillyer who endorsed Bradley Bryne.
Just to let you know, Levin endorsed Quin Hillyiar who endorsed Byrne.

IMO, Shelby and Sessions need to go.

I would imagine Mark was misinformed. he doesn’t endorse either homosexuality or RINO’ism. ..I was disappointed that he bailed and voted for Romney.
He’s not perfect but he is more consistent and less fearful of repercussions than the other hosts.
Also, he is a Constitutional scholar and teaches it well.

Yes it’s a classic special primary election runoff with Dean Young (the Tea Party, true conservative candidate) taking on the GOP establishment’s RINO complicit candidate. In other words, good versus evil. Go Dean Young!!
This special runoff election is critical for setting the tone of the 2014 election year in which we throw off the shackles placed on conservatives by the RINOS and liberal Democrats in both houses of Congress.

I didn’t say Sessions or Shelby were bad guys.
They’ve both been in office long enough.
I support term limits even for the good ones.
