Germanys recent wave of partiotism was not agressive in difference to the past. I am living here and I can not imagine that nazism ever could rise anymore. Nazism itself is a crackbrained concept and this is something that is well understood on our side of the Atlantic. Nevertheless Germany will define itself more self confident in the future. Such could mean that it will kick out US-spies and it will react on unfriendly actions also quite unfriendly. Not a occupied area anymore. Furthermore among the German public it is understood that Germany is economically the most powerful nation in Europe and that means a great responsibility. Together with the rest of the continental European Union Germany remains a key partner of the Brits (who never belongend to Europe) and the Americans that now has much more possiblities than in the past. The spying made Germans more flexible since that makes them free of old psychological obligations. Nothing will happen very fast but it could be quite sustained.
We will see what will happen after Putin and Merkel.
There is resurgent Nazism all over the continent. Even worse, the hard-leftists are exhibiting behavior very similar to their claimed national-socialist opponents, including antisemitism of a kind not influenced by the Muslim immigrants. Well I am a architect that has i.e. the contract of building a synagogue here in southern Germany.
My family consists of some hard-core nazis (my grandfather on the mother side was a WWII fighter ace with many connections to the “old comrades” that ended up in the CDU and elsewhere) and on my fathers side my aunt married a jewish husband who lost 44 family members in the holocaust. One of the best jokes of my granddad made was that he did much for international understanding, since without him the graveyard where those politicians can shake hands now would not be there...
It might sound schizophrenic but I always liked both parts of my family. At least to my knowlege my granddad never was involved into war-crimes but he had “balls” and he earned my respect as someone who fought for his country. Granddad always maintained contacts. Therefore in my youth I met many “real” and extremely dangerous old nazis. The interesting thing was, that my granddad rethinked some of his positions when he was a very old man after I talked to him, since he was only a product of his time. To the jewish part of my family I always had a warm and hearty connection and I shared practically their political point of view.
Therefore I sit between all chairs and you can believe me that have quite a good insight into old and contemporary nazism in Europe. Maybe a much better insight than most other people. As I said - nazism as a political concept has no future anymore. Germany will have more a female dominated socialist tomorrow (which is not my concept but most likely), but racial or religous matters (like islam) won’t be that important. This might be different in France btw.

I'm glad someone finally came out with enough hard evidence that they can't just write him off as a whaco-bird conspiracy theorist. If the NSA wants to focus on foreign countries, fine. Let them do that if they can be kept from expanding their mandate to anything that uses electricity, but if not, then disband the whole organization, and sell the computers and disk drives on ebay.
Even if we were to go to a flat 10% tax, it wouldn't have any effect at all on the IRS. They'd still need their minions digging through your personal finances because they'd still have to know how much you make. The rate is not what makes them completely p0wn the Constitution.
What we need is a flat 10% sales tax at point of purchase. That is the only way to get legions of IRS agents out of our bank accounts. If they can't live off 10% (which is all that God asks for), then they need to shed agencies until they can.
