Eckert's attorney, Shannon Kennedy, said in an interview with KOB that after law enforcement asked him to step out of the vehicle, he appeared to be clenching his buttocks. Law enforcement thought that was probable cause to suspect that Eckert was hiding narcotics in his anal cavity. While officers detained Eckert, they secured a search warrant from a judge that allowed for an anal cavity search.

David’s Very Bad Terrible No Good Day.

I hope he never has to work again because of the money he is rolling in after suing the department, the hospital and each and every participant in this travesty.

The LEO Neanderthals did it because they could. Power. Absolute power to address petty personal will. This guy likely pissed them off for some reason and they decided to use their power to make sure the perp knew he screwed up.

If I were on a jury deciding about those involved, I’d go with the death penalty. We have no place in this world for them.

Maybe this is just preventive care under our new healthcare system.

The news video stated that the drug dog alerted to drugs on the drivers body - the drivers behavior was inline with known criminals having put drugs up certain entry/exit ways of the body, and with that obtained a search warrant.

Where the LEO’s should have stopped was when the X-Ray returned nothing back...if the one shown in the video was clear of foreign substances - then they should have dropped it. The LEO’s should have walked away or called in a higher supervisor to discuss the possibility of being set-up - or received false positives by the K-9. Despite behavior of grabbing one’s buttocks - people do funny things when stopped by police and in this day and age - agencies have to look at potential law suits from a public hard hit by this recession.

Maybe a law suit wasn’t the intent - but up to the point after the x-ray - nothing was seen - anal cavity search and forced enemas is not the sound way to go...

My opinion, law enforcement agencies used to require high standards during recruitment - I’ve seen those standards drop so low it’s scary....I wonder if the driver had any prior drug arrests?

but then again...the first X-ray showed nothing - then nothing should have occurred afterwards...WOW!

How about after they forced him to defecate first? Pure and simple capital abuse of power.

“Wow. Seriously? Fire the cops and throw them in jail.”

It wasn't just the cops - everyone involved including the doctors and staff involved at that hospital, should be sued for multi-millions so they don't do that again. Hard to believe they kept on and on.

That man had absolutely no rights as those involved took them away. If I had been him and had a gun, I would have shot everyone down the line who tried to do that. If I was on that jury, I'd also have the various doctors’ licenses revoked.

Those cops, “doctors” and judge should all be thrown into prison for a very long time. This is one of the most insane incidents I’ve ever heard of.

There’s some good in it. The man’s deductible is probably over $10,000, and doesn’t cover colonoscopy. The police state just saved him thousands of dollars.

Made up headlines distorting the facts will get your thread removed.

Being involuntarily violated in the anus multiple times certainly counts as rape in my book.

Note to self: If stopped by cops and they are behind me, I should “present” myself properly.

The headline was more appropriate after reading the facts listed in the article. I don't know what else you could call it and I thought about it for a minute. I assume you are upset with the use of the word rape. The victim here was subjected to the unwanted and repeated penetration of the his rectum under the guise of an investigative premise to look for evidence of a crime based on a suspect's perceived contraction of his but muscles? Maybe Webster should update it's definition of rape.

He won't be able to $hit for a month. But yea, I suppose that's the silver lining.

But the point is, the title has to be the same as it is in the published article for legal reasons — ie Freepers can’t change the title, even their new title is more apt.
