Why Terry McAuliffe barely won (RNC pulled $ from Cuccinelli, gave it to Christie)

How the heck did that happen?

Most public polls leading up to Election Day had Democrat Terry McAuliffe coasting to victory, some by double digits, in the Virginia governor’s race. Instead he squeaked by, beating Republican Ken Cuccinelli by less than 3 percentage points.

-snip-

McAuliffe outraised Cuccinelli by almost $15 million, and he used the cash advantage to pummel him on the airwaves. A lack of resources forced the Republican to go dark in the D.C. media market during the final two weeks.

The Republican National Committee spent about $3 million on Virginia this year, compared to $9 million in the 2009 governor’s race.

The Chamber of Commerce spent $1 million boosting McDonnell in 2009 and none this time.

“If the Republicans would have rallied around the nominee instead of refusing to support Cuccinelli, he would have won,” said a GOP source involved in the race.

-snip-

RNC spokeswoman Kirsten Kukowski defended the committee, saying that it has to make hard choices about how to spend limited resources.

Since you’re a Morning Joe viewer, has anyone ever asked Joe about the dead intern they found in his congressional office?

If the Republican party throws us Christie, like McCain and Romney, for presidential candidate, I will not vote for him regardless of the Democrat candidate. It won’t matter either way. I voted for the other two but no more. McCain has done everything but switch parties to cooperate with the Democrats. So give us a RHINO/CINO and I will not help them win. DC ruling class is like one big party and the Republicans are acting like the wall flowers so happy to be invited to the party they will do anything to get invited again.

If the business wing of the GOP-e gave the Tea Party “a schooling” then the business wing of the GOP-e is in for a rude shock in 2014 and 2016 when the Tea Party refuses to back their prefered RINOs and they go on to get crushed.

The GOP-e is aready trying to set the table for Chris Christie. There can be little doubt Christie is their next dream candidate following Bob Dole, John McCain, and Mitt Romney.

If the GOP-e manufactures a Christie nomination I will stay home and I publicly declare that I DON’T CARE if that means President Hillary.

Do you think any of the Koch money went to christie? Since they are branded as ultra-conservative satans by the lefties— would they not adhere to TEA principles and goals.
THIS is how to direct the funds. The problem is the “pro” morons like Rove. And. the. Bushes.

It’s not just the money, it’s the outright betrayal of a signifiant chunk of the GOP establishment in Virginia, starting with the Bollings, the Lieutenant-Governor who Cuccinelli defeated in the Republican primary. Take Boyd Marcus for example. He was the former Chief of Staff for Eric Cantor, who then founded the consulting firm Marcus Allen which both provided services to Cantor and to Bollings. When Bollings was defeated, Marcus Allen switched allegiences to MacAulliffe. The betrayal being complete, we can fully expect Boyd Marcus and his cronies to be back on Cantor’s payroll. Disgusting.

sure, that's the home of GOPe. They LOVE Christie. They were estatic over last nights results. “They were big in the “i told you soo’s’ They want him to run.

That's how to find out what they are saying.

Never trust a source who is trying to destroy another source to tell you what the second one is saying, no matter who its is.

This is no accident. The GOP-e would rather have a Clinton bagman as governor of VA than a TEA Party conservative Republican. The conservative voters in VA have Priebus and the Fat Cats to thank for having the worst character in its long and storied history ascending to the governorship of the home state of George Washington.

Disgraceful.

That is an interesting question.

Are the Koch bros conservative or GOPe?
Or between?

"The Chamber of Commerce spent $1 million boosting McDonnell in 2009 and none this time."

This isn't your daddy's Chamber of Commerce anymore. Their leadership and PR has been infiltrated by a bunch of pro-Big Gov, pro-hyper-regulatory state, amnestybot crony capitalists. My advice: wake up and stop supporting them...

It's time we all face the music and realize that the GOP is NOT our party. It's the Tea Party vs the republicans and the democrats. They're in bed together to protect the power that they share that is only endowed upon them by an ever growing big governement. They are our enemy.

I will never, ever agian vote for anyone simply because he has an 'R' after his name on the ballot.

Look at what backstabbing republicans did in the Virginia election:

1.Lt. Governor Bill Bolling refused to endorse or in any way support any of our ticket and allowed mcawful to use damaging quotes attributed to him to attack Cuccinelli.
2.Virginia Beach republican mayor Will Sessoms endorsed mcawful and made commercials for him.
3.The rnc stopped sending any funding to Cucinelli on Oct. 1. leaving the candidate unable to effectively counter the lies and smears heaved on him by his opponent.
4. Out Lt Governor candidate was criticized and lambasted by the state GOP for taking radical positions. He said he was pro life and pro traditional family!
5. gop Rep Scott Rigell, (my rep, who will never again get my vote) went on TV several times to make sure that everyone knew that he thought our ticket was fringe and radical and the he was specifically NOT endorsing EW Jackson.

OK guys...I get it. I don't need a brick wall to fall on me. You don't like us and right now I hate you (gop). We're done. Through . Kaput. Yesterday I voted for Cuccinelli, Jackson and Obenshain but left the rest of the ballot blank because I couldn't find a single candidate on it worth the powder to blow him to hell. I see a lot of similar ballots in the future unless a lot of us get our act together and fight for Tea Party candidates like there was no tomorrow becauseif this shit keeps up there soon won't be!!!

You are just being silly.

Does any of O Reilly’s guests ask him about that FNC staffer who he paid off to be quiet about her sexual harrassment charges?

You know the answer.

There aren’t enough millionaires to win elections, but the mental midgets in charge of the GOP seem to forget that. They can give all the money they have to electing Christie, but Hillary will beat his ample butt. Then let her sock it to the Fat Cats, who will not only take orders from her, but pay protection for the privilege. Just ask Jamie Dimon how that’s working for him.

I used to marvel at the lack of support the RNC gave to California candidates. Now I marvel at the fact they are pulling the same magic clear across the nation.

If you didn’t know any better, you’d think the party doesn’t want to hold power any longer.

Frankly, I no longer know any better.

Anyone who believes there is a better way outside of Marxism and Leftist ideology, is a fool if they support the Republican Party any longer.

Christie is the Republican future folks. You need to come to terms with that.
