Why Terry McAuliffe barely won (RNC pulled $ from Cuccinelli, gave it to Christie)

How the heck did that happen?

Most public polls leading up to Election Day had Democrat Terry McAuliffe coasting to victory, some by double digits, in the Virginia governor’s race. Instead he squeaked by, beating Republican Ken Cuccinelli by less than 3 percentage points.

-snip-

McAuliffe outraised Cuccinelli by almost $15 million, and he used the cash advantage to pummel him on the airwaves. A lack of resources forced the Republican to go dark in the D.C. media market during the final two weeks.

The Republican National Committee spent about $3 million on Virginia this year, compared to $9 million in the 2009 governor’s race.

The Chamber of Commerce spent $1 million boosting McDonnell in 2009 and none this time.

“If the Republicans would have rallied around the nominee instead of refusing to support Cuccinelli, he would have won,” said a GOP source involved in the race.

-snip-

RNC spokeswoman Kirsten Kukowski defended the committee, saying that it has to make hard choices about how to spend limited resources.

The DNC didn’t even want to oppose Christie.

He’s “Their Guy” to get the Republican nomination....They’ve got the goods on him.

I don’t watch O’Reilly either. And it would be funny if someone asked him about the hush money, the harassment and the sex toys too.

There is no way Fatty Arbuckle was going to NOT take someone else’s money to “butter” his fat ass supporters and machine.

If in American history, the RNC think it is somehow “historic” that a fat Taft machine Jersey pol being re-elected is more tectonic than a Soros funded placeholder for hitlery in VA— then they are PAST morons. Nobody cares about the history— they want their “stuuuuuuf” And who wants to be the daddy of that?

Host's dont invite on guests who will ask those type of questions of them.

Did Rush ever invite lib guests give him grief about his past drug problems?

You know the answert.

All these independent Tea Party groups need to be joined as one. A united army with a leader would do wonders vs all these splinter groups not synced with one another.

Yep. It took a while, but I have certainly come to terms with that. For years I held my nose and voted for Dole, McCain, and Romney, but never again. I feel absolutely zero compulsion to support a GOP candidate.

So what if Hillary is elected president. So what. We've had 8 years of Obama. Let things come as they may. I will not be part of the destruction. And no amount of cajoling, guilt, or team player nonsense will change my mind.

Eric Cantor, John Boehner, Mitch McConnell and all the others who profess that it's better to be prisoner who collaborates with the prison guards is insane. I'm out, and I'm not looking back. It's over.

The Republican party IS the Menscheviks of the Russian Duma— comfortable, confident and wrong. Doomed to be eliminated. These are alinsky cloward piven people. There is only one way to deal with them properly— the same way we will be dealt with. Stop being the enablers of the socialist state.

The Revolution is happening— obamaumao’s target is the trained military leadership being demoted/fired— any who do not play ball with his marxism. This happened exactly with the Russian army in WWI (different times) and is happening in the “rewritten” global war on “terror” (not muzzies, no way— whom Lenin called the most useful idiots of all with their organization we can use).

Rush’s drug problems aren’t as interesting as Joe’s dead intern and O’Reilly’s office dildos.

I think Rush dealt with his drug use A LOT more openly than BOR did with his sex scandal. BOR is a fake phony fraud.

I answered your rhetorical question and as with them all their purpose is not to get an answer.

The GOP-e is aready trying to set the table for Chris Christie. There can be little doubt Christie is their next dream candidate following Bob Dole, John McCain, and Mitt Romney.

And his presidency will be just as successful as theirs were.

Well it caused major permanent hearing loss so it wasn't something he could hide.

Hosts dont invite on personal attackers was my point, it was a silly rhetorical question to ask me if one did above.

If the GOP-e manufactures a Christie nomination I will stay home and I publicly declare that I DON’T CARE if that means President Hillary.

+1000

Besides, she can't be any worse than the Kenyan. At least she's a NBC.

"if the whole plan is for conservatives to ditch the GOPe to beat Dems then does it make sense to blame lost elections like this on lack of help from them? If we dont need them then how can we blame losses on them for not helping enough?"

The real issue, I think, is different though. It appears that the RNC made a decision early on that the VA Gov race was a lost cause to some reason, and decided to allocate even more funds to the NJ race (which, like the NY mayorial race, was basically a no-brainer). That's just bad politics- you allocate resources to where candidates who are behind can use them.

And I will ask for the umpteenth time (not to you personally, but in general)- we learned after the 2012 presidential race that the Romney internal pollsters had no idea what they were doing. With the VA race this close in the end... Who the h-ll is doing such a poor job of internal polling for the GOP??!!!
