Rep. Steve Daines (R-Mont.) officially announced his Senate bid on Wednesday, giving Republicans a top-tier recruit for retiring Sen. Max Baucus's (D-Mont.) seat.
"I humbly ask for your support to be Montana's senator, " Daines said at an event in his hometown of Bozeman.

The freshman senator has long been expected to run, and sources told The Hill last week that he would announce Wednesday. Daines begins the race as a slight favorite to succeed Baucus in the GOP-leaning state. National Democrats are hopeful Montana Lt. Gov. John Walsh (D) will run a strong race, though he got a primary challenger in former Montana Lt. Gov. John Bohlinger (D) on Wednesday.

It’s not in the bag, but we have the upper hand. I’m hopeful.
The likely rat nominee is former LT Governor John Bohlinger.
Walsh seems to be the preferred choice of the Dems. Bohlinger is a former RINO who technically considered himself a Republican even after being elected as a running mate with Schweitzer (leading to some confusion).
Absolutely nothing on this guy where Amnesty or “Comprehensive Immigration Reform” is concerned.
Not good!
calling out the purist for the evil cow manure they are....
My mistake, I got my LT’s confused, that filthy traitor Bohlinger just entered the race.
Looks like another “moderate” Republican who is going to waltz to victory in a dark red state and will then vote in lock step with the Republican establishment.
Nope. Its’ the current Lt. Gov. John Walsh. He won’t win.
Oh, sorry. Wasn’t aware Bohlinger had announced. You think he’ll beat Walsh? Walsh has the governor’s backing I think.
No, I got them mixed up. Walsh will win.
Bohlinger permanently jumped in yesterday.
Excuse me “apparently” jumped in. And I mean Walsh will win the rat primary, I don’t give him much chance in November.
