I read it. I asked how you know what the attorney asserts is true or factual. Try to keep up.

If they MANUFACTURED probable cause

Did the cops MANUFACTURE Eckert's criminal record?

Next time try not to use “anal bundling” and “smell test” in the same post.

You have a curious tendency to not understand what you don’t want to understand.

You could perhaps if you wanted to, infer that I don’t know, i can’t know.

I believe it to be an immaterial fact.

I believe it to be an immaterial fact.

What you, the attorney or the cops believe IS immaterial. A jury will decide.

My OPINION is immaterial to the civil cases he WILL win. However on a local level I do vote for city council men and mayor. I will continue to oppose aggressive Police in my community at least.

I notice you don't oppose convicted criminals and repeat offenders. You're a bleeding heart liberal.

“I notice you don’t oppose convicted criminals and repeat offenders. You’re a bleeding heart liberal.”

If you remember, our conversation on this thread started when you asked another poster who disagreed with you how long he had been in prison. You see I have been having this discussion for years, and when I advocate small local government, strong 4th amendment rights, i often get called all kinds of nasty things by people who value the 2nd amendment (non more than I). So many conservatives love the 1 amendment and the 2nd but hate the 4th and sometimes the 5th as well.

Here lays the root of our disagreement. I would like 20 guilty men to go free than one innocent to be imprisoned.

I believe that a criminals should be punished severely once convicted with due process. By that I mean that a DUI that kills somebody on the road should be charged with murder one.

Rapist, at least the violent ones should never get out of jail.

I also believe prisons should not be rape factories.

I believe that the 4th Amendment should be strong, sacrosanct, and make it very difficult on cops. I believe in small local government. I am in a word a constitutional conservative.

I oppose at every turn the Law and Order Conservative and others like him who gave us the War on Drugs and Prohibition. The guy who wants everybody in jail but himself. I oppose government power as the greatist tyranny.

Mercy for me,

Where was the "mercy" for the victims, surviving family and friends of 9/11, Sandy Hook, Ft. Hood, etc., mercy for the victims, surviving family and friends of every assault, rape, armed robbery and murder?

Does not follow.

A balance must exist. The 2nd amendment, and the ability to protect oneself and ones property attenuate the need for aggressive Police. Do courts and Police have a purpose? Yes, to enforce contracts, protect property and life.

The pendulum now has swung to far and the State is too powerful. Everything is about balance. It is really too easy to squeal “liberal” at me. It is also tiresome.

Is that what happened to you while you were incarcerated or is that why you were incarcerated?

A balance must exist.

The USSC is the judge of that balance, is it not? People today have very little respect for authority. It is clearly evident reading posts right on this supposedly conservative forum. Are the cops always right, no, but the large majority make every effort to get things right.

"Squeal"? LOL! If it looks like a liberal, posts like a liberal and defends liberals, it most likely is a liberal.

We are not talking about sentencing sir.

We are talking about the inevitable tension between liberties and risk attenuation. That problem is as old as the hills and has nothing to do with sentencing.

You would I believe classify Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, John Adams, Paul Revere, Samuel Adams, Thomas Paine as “bleeding heart liberals”. It has always mystified me how “conservative” can mean in this country anti 4th amendment. Then I remember the Southern Democrats who became Republicans under Reagan, and I think that explains the issue.

I never mentioned sentencing. Your word ballets and lack of subject focus make it extremely difficult to have a meaningful dialogue with you.

When you say USSC I assumed you meant the United States Sentencing Commission.

Perhaps you mean something else? Word ballet’s?. I can only conclude that indicates an unwillingness on your part to define how my understanding and support for the Founding Fathers makes me a liberal.

Perhaps you should read a little Jefferson, Washington, Paine, Franklin, Adams throw in some Blackstone. Then we might be able to communicate on an equal footing.
