WASHINGTON — Retired Army Gen. David Petraeus recommended that the Medal of Honor nomination of former Army Capt. William Swenson be downgraded to a lower award, according to a Pentagon investigation that failed to resolve how Swenson’s papers then disappeared instead of being sent up the chain of command.

We had a few crappy generals and admirals when I was in, but this is breathtaking.

When you go through Betrayus’ record you’ll find much that is hidden, much that is horrifyng, and much that is fatal.

I can only speak toward the Air Force and the last thirty-odd years....but seventy percent of the generals there...were dimwits or less-than-capable, and should have been hired to manage a fishing boat rental operation or a cabin-retreat in Arkansas.

I think we’d be a lot better off firing the vast number of generals today, terminating the billets, and limit the entire DoD to precisely one hundred generals/admirals.

The findings were outlined in a letter the inspector general’s office sent to Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif., a former Marine officer who’d requested the investigation as part of a larger effort he’s been pursuing to overhaul a military awards process that he charges is subject to politicization and manipulation.

No Sh*t

That bastard was once considered a hero, but when he was named CIA by Obama... I wondered. He lost me when he wouldn’t come totally clean about Benghazi. He knows more and why he won’t tell is beyond me. Sure, they can threaten him and even find a way to mess with his retirement, but since all his dirty laundry came out anyway... why won’t he do the honorable thing. The answer: He is a coward and this story makes me send him to my shi* list.

Where are the heros? I heard that a few STARS were going to spill some beans if Romney won, but now have to wait out Obama leaving. If Clinton wins, and you know they will have perfected fixing the vote even more by 2016, we will never see any of these cowards come clean. If they all stood up and talked loud and with authority... they could not be ignored. Problem is when someone does come clean alone, it is easy to intimidate and ignore them. FUBO

The choirboy. Read and learn about petraeus the 'hero' s.o.b. And this is just a minor piece of the petraeus jigsaw puzzle.

This is a Threat Matrix list documenting threats within and without. Anyone wanting on or off please advise.

This is a little political to be saying about the MOH, but Swanson must be loving this, he served heroically, and was recognized with his nation’s highest award for valor, and he was alive to see it all, and even unmaimed.

In addition though, he is seeing payback done to many of his chain of command, something that not many wronged soldiers get to see and many don’t even live long enough to ponder, he is getting to watch the jerks who helped create that day, fall and be disgraced.

Soldiers are expected to risk and give their lives for our nation. Generals won’t even risk a pension. Petraeus is a coward.

I’ve seen it written, from eyewitnesses, that Petraeus was a huge self-serving, brown-nosing jerk. Total rank grabber who would knife you in the back, in a heartbeat. Sorry, no link.

Wow, your words on this are perfect, and heartbreaking..
What a weak man he is, how awful it must be to have to live with yourself, knowing he is a coward. His wife on the other hand, is happy isn’t she?

I’m at a loss for words. You said it all.

PArking this photo here before heading to bed as you seem to be the only one up and about on FR.....

This is from the Yolanda Hurricain....largest Hurricain to hit land 'in history'...bigger than Katrina and Sandy... is going on in the Phillipines as I post this....horrific wind gusts at 250....expects to soon hit Manila.....few photos at this point...not much on news but Meterologists saying "it's off the charts".....these photos are mild in comparison to what some are tweeting.....mudslides etc...and intense rain...looks more like a tornado hit them but the winds are severe....ok then...off to bed!

When I was in the AF, I tried to change the promotion system but it got zero traction. All they were interested in was all the “really cool toys” that I was coming up with.
The current promotion system is almost 100% subjective. The process tends to eliminate the top as well as the bottom candidates. It has no reflection of combat leadership skills. And once you make General, it really becomes a perverse promotion system. Luckily, a few good ones always seem to sneak through the system.

Gen. David Petraeus lost me years ago. That he wanted anything to do with the present admin. soured me.

And then receiving the MoH from...Zer0.
Wonder if Swenson could have deferred the ceremony for 3 yrs.?

At the very least, find someone excellent with Photoshop to doctor the ceremonial photographs.
