New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R), fresh off a landslide reelection win and seemingly with an eye on the 2016 presidential race, spent Thursday trying to oust a longtime Republican ally from power.
Christie and his staff lobbied Republican state senators to dump their leader, Senate Minority Leader Tom Kean Jr., after three terms atop the GOP conference. At least four Republican senators paraded through Christies office Thursday morning to get the hard sell.

Christie appeared to defer to Democrat Sweeney too, angering some in Keans camp. In the days before the election, when Christie turned his attention to helping legislative candidates, he focused on Senate districts in northern New Jersey, rather than in the south, where Kean was trying to oust Sweeney and two other Democratic incumbents.

RE: Headline.
Easy. Too Easy. But I can’t resist easy.
Fork an ally? Sure. With a knife and fork. Krispy Kreme tried to eat him.
Knifing Christie would only result in a flesh wound. You’ve been a great audience.....
So, Democrats hold a slight edge in the NJ State Senate.
Kean tries to replace some of those Democrats with Republicans.
Christie goes after Kean.....makes sense.
That’s been his pattern, sabotage and cripple allies (see Mitt Romney, see Cuchinelli), while offering center stage support to those “Pals” on the democrat side (see Obama, see Nanny Bloomberg).
Talk about a disaster if the GOP elite succeed in nominating this pig.
The more I see and hear of Christie, the less I like him. He is absolutely unacceptable to be a Republican nominee for president
Looks like Christie is returning the Dems a favor. They didn’t seriously run against him. He returns the favor by neglecting Republican Kean who was running against a rat.
Christie the Hutt. Sorry for the slam Jabba.
Christie .... just a fat McCain.
The press is hoping Christy gets nominated precisely so they use this stuff against him.
and this guy is supposed to be “on our side”?
