A group of 50,000 Syrian Christians has petitioned for citizenship in Russia, and the government of President Vladimir Putin may grant their request.

In a message to the Russian foreign-affairs ministry, the Christians of the Qualamun region report that they are “threatened with expulsion from our land.” Noting that Islamic extremists have made them special targets, the Christians praise Moscow’s role in working for peace and stability, and for protection of the Christian minority, in Syria.

Bubba was pig headed in regard to Bin Laden and said No Thank You when he was offered Usama on a platter. We paid dearly.

Obama has been pig headed toward Russia. We could have stopped the Boston bombers.

There is a difference between diplomacy and ak. Kerry seems to think they are the same thing.

Remember the long-ago days when America stood for Christians? It’s been awhile.

I wouldn’t care if it were the Khmer Rouge doing this.. Christians are being wantonly slaughtered in Syria by Obama’s al-Nusra and FSA clients.

I feel so strange.

We now live in a world where Russia is the protector of Christendom.

I don't blame ME countries for turning to Putin and away from the US under Obama.

Beam me up!

Spend some time on YouTube looking at the Syria videos — from viewing many of them it does appear the jihadis are always the rebels, and all the rebels are always jihadis. The atrocities depicted will turn your stomach — but you’ll come away knowing that the rebels are at least as evil as the worst portrayals of the Syrian army. I can’t understand what they’re saying to each other in these videos from the combat zone but the rebels always chant “allahu akbar” when something happens, either good or bad for them. A dead giveaway.

I wasn’t convinced that the chemical attacks were mounted by the Syrian army. There was plenty of contradictory evidence I found in my reading. And doesn’t it seem strange that an army so hell-bent on gassing its own citizens would be so quick to cooperate with the dismantling of their chemical arsenal?

Putin, though I certainly don’t trust him (all you need to know about him is: he’s former KGB), is emerging as the “good guy” in the Syrian conflict. He may be the best foreign friend of the remaining Christians in Syria.

Strange:

the Russians, formerly atheist, anti-Christian nation, now support persecuted Christians,

The USA, formerly an openly Christian nation, supports those who massacre Christians.

what am I missing here??

He may be the best foreign friend of the remaining Christians in Syria.

And that's the biggest takeaway I've gotten from this whole issue. Because the U.S. is too timid or compromised to provide a zone of protection for Christians, it lies to someone else. If Russia is that "someone" who will do the work Americans won't do.. then so be it.

Well, he said him and his ilk were going to fundamentally transform America. We all knew this was not going to be good, but I did not think that supporting Muslims against Christians, was going to be a part of that transformation.
