Breaking: Speaker Boehner Kills Senate Amnesty Bill
Independent Journal Review ^ | On November 13, 2013 | Kyle Becker

peaker John Boehner has halted further talks on the Senate’s immigration package, and has stated that he has “no intention” of going to conference with the Gang of Eight to debate it further. That means amnesty’s not going anywhere in this Congress.

NBC News recently reported:

House Speaker John Boehner says he will not allow any House-passed immigration legislation to be blended with the Senate’s sweeping reform bill, further quashing the chances of comprehensive immigration reform legislation being signed into law anytime soon.

“We have no intention of ever going to conference on the Senate bill,” Boehner told reporters Wednesday.

...

Although amnesty is not off the table in terms of further talks, both formal and informal, House Speaker John Boehner is now on record saying he has no desire to discuss the matter with the Senate. Which means that as far as this Congress is concerned, an amnesty deal is all but dead this year.

Looks like the Republicans might be serious about winning the 2014 elections after all. And the Obama lame duck just got a little lamer.

The GOP need to focus on things that THEIR constitutes (i.e. citizens) want rather than wasting more time on what was a bad immigration bill from the beginning with the biggest problem being that it required that you trust the Democrats and Pres Obama to implement it and adhere to any regulatory restrictions governing the legalization process.
The GOP needs to stop running point for bad Democrat ideas. Now lets hope they don’t try to help the Democrats out of this Obamacare mess.

” The only reason he’s doing this is because we are on him like white on rice.”

That, & Obama’s precipitously sinking poll numbers. The political animals in DC recognize an electoral pariah when they see one. Those who say Obama’s plummeting popularity doesn’t matter are just not looking at the larger picture.

Piecemeal means amnesty for the dreamers, parents, siblings, then farm workers, then factory workers.

One bill each for each amnesty group. Though this will be much longer process and can be blow up when Gowdy tries to pass the SAFE Act against La Raza’s wishes.

The shutdown and Obamacare moved Immigration out of importance among voters. Ayotte and Schumer said everyone will die if the amnesty bill did not get passed by the end of Summer.

Steve King has been the most public face of House GOP immigration policy until Boehner tries to pass amnesty bit by bit. It must annoy the professional Hispanics that the most effective Congressman King is still standing.

Who wudda thunk it. It appears Boehner grew a pair.

Do you really think amnesty is a big hit in Kentucky.....much less rural Kentucky.....

Someone must be up for reelection.

I’ve never heard of them descending this late in life. I’ll watch and see what happens. When is his primary?

Boehner was testing the wind with his finger. When the polls showed that the popularity gap between the Democratic and Republican parties had closed, he understood it was time to go in for the kill. Timing is everything in politics.

That’s what annoys me about Rand Paul. It is one thing to be quiet like Enzi and vote no. But Paul was trying to rescue amnesty almost certainly against the wishes of his state.

I dont think amnesty is popular amongst the largely non Hispanic voters of Ohio.

Boehner wants to be able to play golf in peace on any course in the Midwest. He won’t be able to if he orchestrates amnesty.

After all the broken promises Obama made about Obamacare. No very many folks will be supporting Obama .His lies and broken promise after promise is catching up with him.Dem’s up for re-election appear to want to stay far away from Obama as well after he burned them. It’s clear anything Obama promises will not actually happen how Obama promises it will happen.
