I haven't found any recent news regarding the Mount Vernon assembly. If I don't hear anything by Friday from my state rep, whether or not FL will participate, I suppose I'll try contacting the Speaker's office.

I was expecting Mark Levin to speak on-air with the Indiana Senate leader David Long by tonight, but it doesn't appear that will happen, despite what Howie Carr had to say last Friday.

But yes, the left and rinos will go ballistic. They will use every subterfuge at their disposal to interrupt, delay or defeat an amendment convention.

Thank you so much for these materials. I will certainly read them and get up to speed. As I said, it will be a war. The LEFT will not go down quietly. The media, professors, TV personalities, Hollywood—EVERY commie in the world will be gunning for the legislators and delegates. I pray they are prepared.

Repealing the 17th. They will jump on it as if it were a bandwagon. Give state legislatures more power, and politicians like more power.

Did I hear correctly? Twenty-six states so far will send delegates to Mount Vernon?

He said 26 were confirmed and he was expecting there would be even more.

Imagine asking one’s state legislator what he/she thinks about a proposed treaty or judicial nominee. Repeal of the 17th will give us better informed state legislators.

1. We want to call a convention for a particular subject rather than a particular amendment. Instead of calling a convention for a balanced budget amendment (though we are entirely supportive of such an amendment), we want to call a convention for the purpose of limiting the power and jurisdiction of the federal government.

We're not doing this to fix the constitution, we're doing this to amend the constitution. The scope of the convention should be narrowly defined and restricted to the 17th and it's clauses. Else you open up potential for being considered a full blown convention, or at least giving opponents ammunition to co-op the convention and define and design it for failure. This is a Convention of States looking to take back certain assumed and arguable powers from the Federal Government. The best way to do that is to give the States back the abililty to select their own Senators. Do that and other issues will evolve or devolve naturally through loyal Senators and honest negotiations and compromises. I suspect anybody who proposes otherwise. Vague and overly broad. The 17th is the foundation of the Federal System as it stands today. Everything and anything else proposed however as seemingly innocuous or related would increase the inertia. The convention must be limited in scope to one bold Idea: How Senators are appointed, elected or otherwise selected.

I agree with your analysis of the 17th. It's repeal is the keystone to restoration of republican freedom.

Please check out the handbook pdf. It addresses your concerns. State delegates will arrive with specific commissions that frame and contain their authority.

You're right. That one got by me unnoticed.

The Preamble, lately, has been my favorite part. I've been quoting it repeatedly since 2008.

It's where "natural born citizen" is defined, a fact that has been missed by SCOTUS for 224 years and counting.

Natural born citizens are the Posterity of We the People, for whom the blessings of liberty were secured by ordaining and establishing the Constitution of the United States.

“...we want to call a convention for the purpose of limiting the power and jurisdiction of the federal government.”

No, this is not the right way to go, you do NOT “limit” the Federal Government’s power...

You do however, want to “restore” the Federal government back to within the confines of its Constitutional limits and duties as enumerated in that document...Thats how you “limit” this Federal Government...

Either that, or hit the “Flush” lever, and start over, either option is acceptable in my book...

And a longshot to boot...

Term Limits...

Answer, “We have elections every two years to change things...If you do not show up to exercise that right, do not come crying to me...”

Limiting Federal power to take private property...

Answer, “Repeal Executive Order 13603 for starters...”

Limiting Taxation...

Answer, “Repeal the Affordable Healthcare Act, for starters...”

Yes, there is a lot of work that needs to be done, there are a LOT of elected officials from D.C. to our local State houses that need to be flushed...

It is work that will take longer than we have left on this earth, and until we have a legacy of activism and educate our future, ou job keeps getting harder and harder the more we fiddle fart around with such mechanisms as this project so far eludes to...

Don’t get me wrong, it is a proper mechanism and something we may very well have to do and support, but we already have the tools at hand to restore the basic, fundamental constraints on our Federal Government at this time, and the more we side-track ourselves into these “other” things, the more we lose the things we already have at our disposal...

If we put the right pressure (positive or negative) on the right people that we send to represent us, it will eventually garner results...

It may not be a splashy as a Constitutional Convention, but if that trigger is pulled, how can we be 100% sure that effort will get the results originalists, like us, desire???

I do not have a high degree of confidence, as yet, in this projects ideals...

In the end, you are still going to have to deal with the people up in those houses of government, that might not be very amiable to the cause and they might very well be on your side, in most if not all cases and issues...

Kinda like cutting your nose off, dispite your face...Or shooting yerself in the foot...

Even thought you might live through that kind of trauma, its still going to hurt like hell...And some people might not be ready to deal with that kind of pain, regardless if you have the numbers you are talking about that these COS folks say they intend to put on the field of battle...

The pride of the folks that we will be opposing will be tremendous, and that, in some cases can be used against them very effectively...But the opposition will have many more people lined up against us in this process, and spies and saboteurs will be infiltrated within our ranks as well, doing what they can to torpedo every single effort, however big or small it is...

I’m just putting my thoughts into premonitions, and caution anyone that believes this is a simple thing to organize and implement...I am not saying it is unachievable, it is just something that I feel is the wrong effort, at the wrong time in our countries history, when we still have these other mechanisms to actually do what needs to be done...

What else would I like to see???

I would like to see a huge turnout to replace and primary out those representatives fromthe Federal down to the local level those people not doing everything they can and then some to restore the originalist constraints placed upon them as government officials within our Federal and State Constitutions...

The definitions and constraints are already there...You just have to ensure that those people are in place to do what needs to be done, however painful that is to get us back on the correct path...

There will be tens of millions of people, fellow citizens, that will resist, and they will be put into a froth by the media and the politicl apparatus of opposition to these efforts...

A lot more than we can put on the battlefield...

Sorry for the long rant, but I am tempered in my passions to remind everyone that we still have to maintain our efforts in the system we have now, that even though it is difficult to see results, and sometimes it doesn’t always go our way, that is still our process, and it needs to be protected and participated in...

I will get off my soapbox now, and Mr. Chairman, I yield the balance of my time...;-)

We disagree.

It is the perfect approach. If every state legislature passed different Article V resolutions, it might give our slippery congress an excuse to avoid calling a convention.

If the states use identical language, there is zero constitutional justification to not call a convention.

Once the delegates convene, they will be governed by their state issued commissions.

And yes, placing structural, federal limits on our consolidated government should be the purpose of amending the constitution.

To: Jacquerie

And what do you think the odds for exactly the same resolutions, in wording and interpretation (judicial review), be inacted by so many different State Legislatures???

You do understand that in today’s world, in this country, what may be applicable and a priority in one state may be 180 degrees out from another States’ Legislature...

The process has it’s positicves and negatives, and it is unlikely you will find cohesion in matters of social, economic and other pertinant issues between more that two states, if that...

IF that is what you are illuding to...If the effort is to get ONE complete resolution, worded, reviewed and approved by 2/3’d of the states to accomplish this deal, and convene a Constitutional Convention...I would bet against those odds...

And it wouldn’t mean that I would not support the concept...Getting hundreds of these knuckleheads in the State Houses to agree, much less agree with out of state legislatures is the long shot, of ALL long shots...

There are TOO many of them trying to prove to others how high up on the wall they can wee-wee...And they could care less what people think of them in that attempt...

Today, once again, Obama illegally rewrote Obamacare.

Over twenty six states opposed Obamacare in the courts.

John Roberts rewrote the law, then found it constitutional.

All federal agencies are available to intimidate rat enemies before they become political threats. The democrats do not intend to lose another presidential election.

Tyranny, yes?

We are not the only ones to notice. Over twenty-six states will send delegates to Mount Vernon on December 7th.

The situation is beyond serious; it is critical.

Maybe they will, maybe they won't rise to the occasion. I'm not a bookie, and don't care what the odds are.

As per the ageless saying, “Lead, follow or get out of the way.”

I suspect there is more support for you to lead than you are aware of.
