Obama will offer health insurance cancellation fix today: Democratic anger building
Chicago Sun Times ^ | November 14, 2013 | Lynn Sweet

WASHINGTON–President Barack Obama will offer a fix for people facing health insurance policy cancellations as a result of his Obamacare health care law today at 11:35 a.m. ET.

Earlier Thursday, House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi D-Calif., Obama will take action for people whose health insurance policies were cancelled as a result of his Obamacare health care law while House Democrats are also working on a plan.

“The president will offer a proposal today is my understanding and we have our own proposal which we think is really good. But we’ll see. And it has to be done in the next little period, Pelosi said, referring to cancellations kicking in on Jan. 1.

Speaking at The Atlantic Ideas forum, Pelosi said, “So again, stay tuned. It could be an administrative fix, it could be a legislative fix. I would prefer an administrative fix because it could be done much more quickly without any accompanying agendas.”

Pelosi’s comments come as Congressional Democrats—in particular those with big 2014 contests—are angry at the Obama White House, with cancellations of health insurance policies far more a political threat than the botched Obamacare website and the resulting initial low enrollments.

And it will probably cost the insurers a lot since many have already gone down the cancellation and re-pool road...

We have to pass it to find out what’s in it. LOL! That’s one hellava way to run a country, Nancy. That’s not a bill, that’s a can of worms.

Executive Order to fix existing law.

I'm sure you are right. Vlad Putin isn't around to save him from a humiliating vote this time.

The insurance companies had bailout provisions written into the law. Plus, they gave a lot of money to Republicans, too. They will not suffer at all.

Senator Mitch McConnell

Kindred Healthcare $76,300 $66,300 $10,000

Humana Inc $45,550 $40,550 $5,000

Blue Cross/Blue Shield $41,450 $24,450 $17,000

Aetna Inc $38,450 $28,450 $10,000

1. Insurance companies who were all for this debacle are about to get the rug pulled from under them (might not want to hold a lot of insurance stock on Friday).

2. Drastic expansion of Medicaid and/or Medicare with a requirement that doctors and hospitals accept them. Half the private doctors retire or quit in the next 5 years.

My bet is on #2 since it moves them closer to socialized medicine.

and he’s only doing this for political cover for dems. if they weren’t upset, he’d let this whole thing keep going the way it is. all dems care about are poll numbers and re-election.

Sounds a lot like "We have to pass the bill so you can find out what is in the bill" that this overbotoxed old harridan from hell bleated on about a few years back.

Whatever it is the Republicans are again going to be reactive instead of proactive. They have never really grasped that "public relations" concept.

According to Rand Paul this was never in the original bill.

It is a regulation

WRITTEN BY PRESIDENT OBAMA

then voted on and approved

BY EVERY DEMOCRAT SENATOR
