President Obama's press conference on Obamacare "fixes" today started more than half an hour after its announced time, a good indicator of last minute panic over wording. That's because appearances, not substance, are the essence of this "plan."
For one thing, state insurance commissioners must approve any new plans. In California, health insurers have been required to sign contracts promising to end old policies, and the federal government lacks the authority to change lawful contracts. The idea that 50 state insurance commissions could and would quickly approve new plans yet to be created by insurance companies is ludicrous.

After today’s statement from the king, ONLY the poor will be signing up on the exchanges. That’s pretty much how it was anyway. But now the traffic to the site will stop completely.
Also, what about the individual mandate? It’s still in effect. I don’t think the people are going to pay attention to any this law.
Mr Obama - take your laws and your granting of privileges to me and pound them straight up your skinny little a$$.

How is this not Obama pretending he’s Congress? Does the actual law allow Obama to change stuff at will whenever he deems fit?
Then he (and the democrats) can blame the insurance companies (you know, those evil bastards) for the problem. The whole plan is to shift blame away from Obama. It is so obvious, and it is explained in the article.
Let the people have their old policies, but then jack up the obamacare rates.
Well, it looks like the state insurance commissioners may be blocking this option, as evident by Washington state’s commissioner ruling today to not allow the old policies to come back.
So even if the insurance companies want to do it, if the state commissioner will not allow it, it will not happen.

From the distance, it’s a great theater act.
There are thirty-five companies in America that sell health insurance...so figure each one has a different view or thought on how this could or could not work.
Then you have fifty insurance commissioners across the nation, and each of them have a view of how it would or wouldn’t work.
Then you have a hundred senators and 435 Congressmen, who each have a view.
Toss in five thousand lobbyists....tied to various functions and groups.
Figure at least thirty WH insiders who each have a view.
Then you figure at least five hundred journalists or wannabe journalists, each with a different view.
I would say that we have a mighty fine US version of Les Miserables. Lots of songs, merry banter, woeful words, sorrow, charm, wit, deceit, lost morals, fleeting moments, gimmick solutions, cleverness at a marginal level, and bit of political intrigue.
Yeah, Les Miserables....just bigger, bolder, and more audience members than you can imagine.

No, they are not very “brainy” and I think most people who are really brainy are engaged in trying to do something that makes sense rather than see how quickly they can destroy America. There may be a few high IQ types in this administration but if so they are the criminally deranged sort.

Good God, just when I start thinking that this disaster that IS the Obama presidency can’t possibly become an even bigger ‘unfunny joke’.....I’m proven wrong.
