TED CRUZ: Obamacare is not working. It’s time to start over
Houston News ^ | November 14, 2014

Posted on 11/14/2013 4:37:26 PM PST by Oldeconomybuyer

U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) issued the following statement in reaction to the President's Obamacare announcement:

"It was only a few weeks ago that President Obama refused to consider any changes to Obamacare, forcing the government to shutdown for 16 days.

"Today, he made a 180-degree turn and announced a plan that, sadly, is too late for the more than 5 million Americans who have already received cancellation notices from insurance companies notifying them the plans they had are no longer available due to explicit provisions in Obamacare that made them illegal.

"We cannot 'fix' Obamacare. The damage has been done, as millions of Americans have already been made to pay higher premiums and lose their jobs, wages, and health care plans.

"Yesterday, the largest private provider of cancer treatment in Austin, Texas, announced it will not accept insurance plans sold through the exchanges, due to regulations associated with Obamacare.

"The news will only get worse. If Obamacare continues to be enacted, Americans will continue to lose health care plans, premiums will continue to rise, and Americans will continue to lose their doctors.

"Obamacare is not working. It’s time to start over.

"The plan the president outlined today is not capable of undoing the damage; it is designed to mitigate his party’s political pain.

"It must be repealed and at the same time, Republicans and Democrats should work together to adopt policies that will truly make health care more accessible by creating a true national market to make insurance more affordable, personal, and portable."

Ted Cruz is right again.

If he had a real party behind him he would be a shoo-in for President.

Senator Cruz is my hero.

And he’s right, there’s no fix because the bill is full of land mines and since no one has ever read it, no one will see it coming.

If the Democrats had any brains they’d be leading the charge to repeal this bill. Otherwise it’s going to haunt them through 2014 and 2016. Every time they put out one fire they’re going to be looking over their shoulder for the next one, guaranteed.

Their best bet is to kill it with or without their leader.

Finally, a Republican that knows what to say and when to say it.

Did you all read on Zerohedge about the Independent Payment Advisory Board? Obamacare gave it power to “write law about Medicare reimbursement rates without any checks and balances…and tried to make the law itself unrepealable” A good post, check it out.

Start over and merely allow insurance to cross state boundaries? Solved.

Any new health law can’t be allowed to be categorized a tax, IRS cannot oversee it, cannot go on for many hundreds of pages, cannot mandate what insurance is allowed, can’t have rationing boards or bearucrates running individual health decisions, cannot be passed without being both written and read by congressment voting on it.

No law can be allowed to pass if it hasn’t even been read, much less written yet. What an obvious criminal, if not _treasonous_ activity.

I wish Ted Cruz the Lawyer and Constitutional Scholar would call a press conference with Lee, Rand Paul, Jeff Sessions and state pointedly that the President has openly violated the law by telling Ins. Companies could sell Illegal policies.

Then point out that less that a Month ago the President and these same Democrats that are now calling for a fix, were repeatedly telling the Public the Republicans were holding a gun to our heads, were terrorists etc.to try to change something that was Settled LAW!

We must support Ted Cruz—Obamacare must go! It needs to be re-done and re organized.

If Cruz throws his hat in the ring, I will stretch my finances to support him.

You can drop the "Republicans and Democrats should work together" crap right off the bat, Senator. The Democrats have their plan and the Republicans are, quite rightly, trying to kill it so they will be no more willing to work with you on a replacement than you were to work on their plan to begin with. So you will have to come up with a plan of your own and you'll have to come up with some specifics.
