Parents found guilty of murder after SECOND child dies from pneumonia because they prayed instead of seeking medical attention

A Philadelphia couple were found guilty of the third-degree murder of their son after pleading 'no contest today. Herbert and Catherine Schaible's 7-month-old son Brandon died last April 18 from dehydration and pneumonia when his parents decided to pray for him to get better rather than seek medical attention. At the time, the Schaibles were on 10-year probation for their 2-year-old son Kent's similar death in 2009. The terms of their probation required the Schaibles to seek medical attention any time one of their seven surviving children got sick. The fundamentalist Christian couple will face sentencing February 19 for their crime. 'I can't even imagine being a mother myself, what was happening,' Philadelphia prosecutor Joanne Pescatore said. 'The sheer pain and the stress that that child was in. When a parent can actually say that his breathing was worsening and he was fussy and whiny and crying and still, at that point, not calling anyone for help, it's just unbelievable to me - and totally foreseeable (that he died).' About a dozen U.S. children die each year when parents turn to faith healing instead of medicine, typically from highly treatable problems, according to experts.

Philadelphia District Attorney Seth Williams said the care was never given and decided to bring murder charges against the couple. Their remaining children have been placed in foster care. ‘He is incarcerated because of his faith,’ said lawyer Bobby Hoof in May when the couple was ordered held without bail. He described client Herbert Schaible's mindset as resolute.

I don’t understand Christian Scientists IF this report is true. God gave us the ability to treat our medical problems, it’s not perfect because man is not perfect. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with praying but go to the Doctor.

Others on this thread have doubted the ‘accuracy’ of this report and I have to agree with them. It’s a perfect example of how the pagans view Christians. It would have been fine if they’d sacrificed something to Gaia; even celebrated.

It’s like Steve Jobs, he wanted to do that hippy diet for 9 months, fine, but follow your doctor’s recommendations too and he paid the ultimate price.

A religious man is on top of a roof during a great flood. A man comes by in a boat and says "get in, get in!" The religous man replies, " no I have faith in God, he will grant me a miracle."

Later the water is up to his waist and another boat comes by and the guy tells him to get in again. He responds that he has faith in god and god will give him a miracle. With the water at about chest high, another boat comes to rescue him, but he turns down the offer again cause "God will grant him a miracle."

With the water at chin high, a helicopter throws down a ladder and they tell him to get in, mumbling with the water in his mouth, he again turns down the request for help for the faith of God. He arrives at the gates of heaven with broken faith and says to Peter, I thought God would grand me a miracle and I have been let down." St. Peter chuckles and responds, "I don't know what you're complaining about, we sent you three boats and a helicopter."

Drag the parents out and have them dangling by their broken necks under rope nooses a couple of times and this will stop.

Unfortunately, that is NOT the case. Have you not listened to Kenneth Copeland, Binny Hinn, Katherine Kuhlman, etc.? They deride the person who doesn’t get well for their lack of faith. You should listen to Joni Earickson-Tada’s testimony sometime.
I would not claim their churches to be fundamental. The media has done that to slander all conservative Christian churches with the same stroke. This practice in encouraged in MANY of the faith churches. Word of Faith, Health & Wealth, Name it and Claim it, etc. They are not really mainline churches, but they are mega-churches, for the most part. Creflo Dollar, etc., are some of the newer ones. Just google search and you’ll find dozens (maybe hundreds) of them.
