Yes. HE opened the door. The screen was locked, and there is apparently no evidence that she tried to open it. It will be very hard for him to argue that he reasonably feared imminent death or serious bodily harm when he opened the door to the supposed threat.

Was his porch light working, Did he have it turned on. Visibility through the screen. If there was no outside light, could he see through the screen?
