Why Dems better hope Obama's lying
CNN ^ | November 16, 2013 | S.E. Cupp

As the fallout from the botched launch of Affordable Care Act's exchanges continues, it grows ever clearer that website glitches are only a small part of the problem with the cumbersome--and increasingly unworkable--law. One has to ask:Is President Barack Obama making this up as he goes?

It's hard to imagine that the President and the team charged with implementing Obamacare couldn't have foreseen the problems that have continually popped up. Yet, here we are, bringing in "tech surges" to examine the website problems, security experts to mitigate privacy concerns, insurance executives to "brainstorm" ways to actually insure people. And all the while the President has implied he was the last to know that storm clouds were on the immediate horizon.

There are two possible scenarios here:

One, the President is lying, and quite effectively. If he knew that the website wouldn't be up to snuff, or that millions of Americans would not, in fact, be able to keep their insurance plans if they liked them, then he simply made a calculation that many politicians make: Lies aren't necessarily fatal. Except when they are.........

Or two, Obama is hopelessly out of the loop. Whether it was the IRS scandal, the NSA spying program or these ACA collapses, no one in his immediate circle appears to have felt it necessary to inform the President of looming problems that he might have to answer for, let alone solve.

Whether he was uninformed of or simply incurious about the potential failures, Obama's lack of preparedness and competence in implementing his signature piece of legislation not only diminishes his credibility as a problem-solver, but it jeopardizes the faith in government that liberals rely on. When government looks hapless, private-sector innovators are empowered and emboldened. For liberals, that's bad for business. Better they hope he was merely being dishonest.

It’s still about sex, he is screwing the nation! We really need an orchestrated march on the WH with eviction papers in hand!

Obama makes lying fashionable. Just as Clinton made oral sex fashionable.

It will require many more employees. The largest employer in Great Britain is the National Health Service.

‘Rats and especially Ø are in a unique political position not offered to either the GOP-e or the GOP-TP: the ability to unabashedly lie and have the enemedia cover for you.

In this case, perhaps Ø so consumed by a huge agenda win, just calculated that the lies were worth it and likely to be smoothed over by the media.

In this scenario, Ø may not necessarily be in trouble. After all, Øcare is still the law, it still promises to buy millions of votes.

The aircraft analogy to Øcare is apt, but the analalgous part, rather than a component of the airplane, is more fundamental. In this case the aircraft won’t fly because something went wrong with Bernoulli’s Principle.

The secret to selling Obamacare is convincing the masses that higher premiums, higher deductibles, paying for coverage they neither want nor need, rationed care and long waits for care is an improvement. I’m not sure it can’t be done. ‘Doublethink’ is no longer just a theory.

“The man is both monumentally incompetent AND a liar.”

True but he was not INSTALLED as president for his competency, the people who ENGINEERED his ascent to the whitehouse were under no illusion that he was competent to do anything more complicated than reading a teleprompter. He actually may be stupid enough to have believed he was the man for the job but not those who arranged this disaster. Those who actually voted for him were dupes of every known category from the totally uneducated to those who line the walls of their offices with framed diplomas, “educated” far beyond their native intelligence and incapable of a logical sequence of thought, smugly believing in their own superiority for no actual reason whatsoever.

The people who put this mountebank in the white house are sitting somewhere laughing their asses off at how easy it was to make fools of the Americans.

Obama is a puppet but I am actually beginning to wonder if he is too stupid to even realize that he IS a puppet.

What if insurance companies are, in fact, part of all of this? They get higher rates. The Democrats get a path to a single payer system...

If there’s a single payer system, the insurance companies will be left out completely.”””

You are correct.

Obama wants to destroy all the health care insurance companies.
Since many insurance companies cover other kinds of problems, how many will still be standing to provide house insurance-—car insurance—business insurance—etc?

I think Obama wants to entirely destroy America.

As a Muslim, they don’t believe in INSURANCE—they believe insurance is GAMBLING...

Connect the dots. Obama is after a larger part of the American economy. How much of a hit will Wall Street & pensions take if health care insurance companies stocks are removed??? How many people have stocks in insurance companies? How many pensions have stocks in insurance companies.???

Obama wants to destroy all the health care insurance companies.

That's why the rollout couldn't, and can't, be delayed, despite his knowledge of the problems.

Obama wants to destroy all the health care insurance companies.

I tend to disagree. This is the Chicago Mob, not the Muslim Brotherhood. Eliminating insurance companies eliminates a huge source of campaign funds, lobbying, etc.

Could he really be so lazy as to be out of all the political loops as president? I rather doubt it, though lazy is easy for him to lie about.

The Hill’s spin on the Johnson Zerocare proposal is “to fix” not “to toss”. When Bi-partisan Johnson starts getting calls from other regime visual and print outlets that’s the spin they’ll be putting on his presntations. If Johnson really wanted to do something he would have kept the opening of his slam-bang on No-care and then follow up on the globull krap when responding to the Saturday commytribe.

Interesting she cites "Read my lips" and "no WMD" and doesn't mention Clinton's gargantuan lie.

In fact, neither Bush lying. They were sure what they were saying was the truth.

Obama and Clinton, though, are in a league of their own. They knew they were lying at the time and just kept on intentially lying until they were boxed in a corner.

Democrats are liars through and through.

S.E. Cupp is hardly a Lib/Prog.

Then why doesn't she mention Clinton in the list of President she considers to have lied? Nixon, both Bushes and Obama on the list.

Either she's stupid or a liberal.

The question is how future Republican candidates will deal with obvious lies made during presidential campaigns.

Romney fought fellow primary Republicans much harder than he fought Obama in the general election. Was Romney being to deferential to the office, was he cowered by Obama's thugs, or was his meek manner finally catching up to him?

Whatever the answer, future candidates must take the gloves off and call the lie a lie, immediately, publicly, and without fear of consequences.

We know that Obama lied in the first debate about the sequestration not going to happen. We know Obama lied about Benghazi, Fast and Furious, Obamacare, the IRS, the NSA, the military purge, Keystone pipeline, and on and on.

The compliant MSM and feckless Republicans allowed Obama to steal the 2012 elections by using the IRS to prevent grass-roots opposition groups from forming, and by lying to the people during campaign stumps and televised debates.

Republicans must not allow that kind of Democrat boldness that comes from an expectation of Republican cowardice to continue.

What really frosts me more than anything is that the real villains in this are the mainstream media!

That is so true and my feelings as well. But I don't think that honeymoon will last any longer. Most of them hold independent insurance policies and have either had their policies canceled or are going to have to pay substantially more for them.

But so are her debating skills.

How can you tell. That video is like the shouting matches on Hannity that are the reason I don't listen to Hannity.

She had some facts and gave some good shots. You are correct that she wasn't "debating" - my larger point was the focus on her bust vs her "debating." Thus my "impressive" in response to the comment/photo I was commenting on.

It was very interesting on Special Report Friday night hearing Kristin Powers’ reaction to the cancellation of her insurance policy. She said that her policy was not inferior and that she resented someone telling her that she did not know what was best for her own life. Up until it affected her personally, she had been one of Obamacare’s most ardent supporters.
