Yes, but GOP candidates and office holders must communicate and campaign not like an Old Testament prophet warning of damnation, but with a personable manner and conveying that you want to help ordinary people and the disadvantaged to prosper and advance. That takes not just a particular sort of cleverness but also training and discipline. Go on YouTube and compare Reagan’s 1964 speech for Goldwater with his GOP convention speech in 1980 and his campaign speeches. Without that difference in tone, Reagan would likely have lost to Carter.
How bout, STOP STEALING FROM US!?
There is NO way I go to the polls for Christie...We are so screwed..!!
The last thing in all the world that a democrat wants is a J-O-B..!!
What a fine democracy we find ourselves in...

Yours is only the second post on this thread that mentioned Reagan (there was no mention of him in the article itself) and his progression and ability to connect with people, while clearly and optimistically defining, communicating and advocating conservative principles.
"We learn from history that we learn nothing from history" - George Bernard Shaw
"Those who do not learn from history are condemned to repeat it" - George Santayana
"Maybe if people started to listen, history would stop repeating itself" - Lily Tomlin
Quite true.
Sticking to principles win provided your principles are those of the growing minority groups.
You should be zotted for that. Reprehensible slimy creepy comment you made...
I barfed!
How well did that work with Bush!!! Compassionate Conservatism is nothing more than a pass at socialism.
