A Tennessee father was hauled off to jail after he insisted on taking his son home from school on time, rather than waiting for another half an hour under a recently implemented school rule.
Jim Howe, father of two children enrolled in South Cumberland Elementary in Crossville, Tennessee, arrived at the school on foot at dismissal time: 2:00 PM. But a new school policy states that students may only leave at 2:00 PM if their parents are picking them up in cars. Walkers must wait until 2:35 PM.
Howe maintained that the policy was meant to apply to students walking home by themselves, not students walking home with their parents.

The Public School is better understood as the Bus Ministry of the State Church of Humanism.

That’s what will happen if you put your kids in a tax-funded, union-run, government school collective.
i suspect this rule is to protect the walkers from all the car traffic. i think it’s a stupid rule anyway but common sense, which isn’t, should apply in these situations. zero tolerancce is just administrators unwilling to make decisions and cover their butts.

What a sad commentary. Your kids aren’t really yours, well, between certain hours and only then, if you’re in a car or vehicle.
And get tazed or shot dead? I don't think so.
I smell grounds for a lawsuit.
I believe a few years ago Obama was talking about the desirability of a further lowering of the mandatory school age.
Meanwhile, the public schools fill their heads with Liberal propaganda as they are property of the state?

Just take your kid and leave. Whose to stop you? The principal? I doubt the LEO was on site.
But a lawsuit still pays better than the satisfaction of seeing the oaf sprawled out on the floor minus a tooth or two.

After an experience like this, I would have immediately “dis-enrolled” my child from this school. He would never set foot in there again.
Private school, or homeschool. Get your kids out of public schools!
I am LEO...cor the past 23 years. Since he could not arrest on a policy violation...he used disorderly conduct...the universal catch all...its bullshit. And the schools are way out of control as well.
