Obamacare's unpopularity reaching 2006 Iraq War levels
The Washington Examiner ^ | November 20, 2013 | Philip Klein

Support for President Obama's health care law has dropped 16 points in the past month -- and that's just among Democrats.

The finding, from a CBS News poll, is one of several startling numbers from polls released in recent days showing rapidly eroding public support for Obama's signature legislative accomplishment in the wake of its botched rollout.

Some highlights from the CBS poll:

— Just 58 percent of Democrats now approve of Obamacare, which is down from 74 percent in the same poll taken in October. Independents now oppose the law 67 percent to 27 percent. Last month, disapproval among independents was a much narrower 55 percent to 38 percent.

— Just 11 percent of those surveyed said the signup process for Obamacare’s health exchanges is going well.

— An even lower number (7 percent!) of those surveyed said Obamacare “is working well and should be kept in place as is.” In comparison, 48 percent said it needs at least some changes and 43 percent favor full repeal...

And it hasn't even hit the majority yet. Iraq was and is a far away country, healthcare is everywhere and is in everyone's life.

That little time bomb is set to go off around the time of next year’s election.

Yes, but the MSM saw to it that the Iraq war was pushed in everyone's face 24-7. Every 1000-mark in casualties became a national wall-to-wall media event. Every couple of weeks an "atrocity" was manufactured to make our side out to be torturers, or mass murderers. Abu Ghraib, urinating on corpses, on and on. If I recall correctly, they prosecuted a guy for shooting an Iraqi combatant who had been playing dead; the American soldier in question had - just a day or two earlier - lost several friends when an Iraqi set off a bomb after having pretended to be dead.

Obama's ratings fall is coming while the MSM is doing everything it can to prop him up by (a) rationalizing the problems of Obamacare, (b) changing the subject, and (c) ramping up spectacular attacks against the GOP.

All, I suspect, in direct cooperation with Obama administration media team members recently brought in for war-room service.

Plus the press was pounding Bush daily was we all know.

The media and the Dems were pounding Bush daily over 2.50 a gallon gas.

However, we’re supposed to tolerate 3.50 a gallon gas, 500 dollar a month premiums, and 6000 dollar deductibles!!

fall 2006, when a public backlash against the war enabled the Democrats to take over control of both chambers of Congress.

And as you say, Obamacare hits many more Americans more directly than the Iraq war did.

Every day brings a new report of a drop in Obama’s approval ratings. When will this end? HOW will it end?

If Obama matches last month’s performance and loses another 16 points over the next month, he’ll have a 21% approval rating before Christmas! Just in time for the whole angry country to watch him frolicking in the waves in Honolulu.

My thoughts precisely. Wait until it actually starts to affect a large percentage of the populace.

The Iraq War affected almost no one directly. Very few people even know someone in the military, even fewer know someone that served in Iraq or Afghanistan and of those very few know a person wounded or killed in these conflicts.

Everyone has a need for Health Care. Everyone knows someone who has or has had cancer, heart surgery, appendicitis, accidents or an endless list of maladies that effect everyone. No one wants their personal health to be administered by the group that brought us the DMV, IRS, or Post Office.

Bush was also pushing amnesty with GOP leadership.

The GOP leadership in congress was unpopular.

Many ex-dictators find France a pleasant place to wile away their sunset years, spending the contents of their home country's looted treasuries.
