DASHCAM VIDEO RELEASED OF VET’S VIRAL ARREST FOR ‘RUDELY DISPLAYING’ RIFLE ON HIKE

Officials in Bell County, Texas, have released the dashcam footage of a police officer in Temple, Texas, disarming and arresting decorated veteran C.J. Grisham while he was on a hike with his son in March. The officer is seen grabbing the dad’s gun and then seemingly attempting to unlatch it from the man’s sling without telling him why or asking for permission.

Video recorded by Grisham and his son went viral earlier this year, but it did not show the moment the dad was approached and disarmed by the officer. He was later charged with “interference with duties of a public servant,” though the officer is heard in the video from March telling Grisham he was stopped for “rudely displaying” his rifle.

On Nov. 19, Grisham was found guilty by a jury of three men and three women of “interference with duties of a public servant” and ordered to pay a $2,000 fine. In an email to TheBlaze, the veteran said he plans to appeal the decision.

In the newly released dashcam video, officer Steven Ermis can be seen flagging down Grisham and asking him, “What are we doing?”

“We’re hiking,” Grisham replies.

Ernis, without warning, grabs Grisham’s AR-15 semi-automatic rifle and examines it.

Convention in the south once held blacks would use a special faucet —it was not law but it was wrong. And when people did not follow the convention then there was a process if adjustment.

This is the same.

to do his job he copuld have asked a couple of simple questions before assaulting the hiker.

He had a gun too that he could use if the man acted iun a threatening manner.

Unless the man made a move for his properly and legally carried rifle, he had no cause to grab that gun.

Understanding of the officer’s situation?
WTH does that mean? That the fat-arsed officer couldn’t get it up for his ole lady and felt the need to “be a man” when confronting a citizen acting within his rights?

Please, don’t spew lapdog rhetoric when an ignorant public servant is oblivious to the laws he is supposed to enforce and acting outside the realm of legality and deference to the rights of the citizenry.

Another hero ignorant cop who is not seeing the drug dealers screwing his daughter at public school
*****************************************************************
Nah, if this pussy of a cop has a daughter she’d likely be so unattractive that no drug dealer would be interested in screwing her. If he had a son, that son may be giving BJs to the local Mexican drug dealers if the son is anything at all like the father the pussy cop.

The three videos in their entirety make it clear that the only “crime” was not being totally subservient to the cop; and that’s not a crime. The jury should be ashamed of returning the verdict they did. I did note that the first jury trial in this case resulted in a mistrial and this stupid municipality chose to spend taxpayer money on yet another trial to obtain a conviction.

“What would any of us do in his situation if we were dispatched to some remote road looking for two males, at least one of them is heavily armed?”

In Temple, Texas I would simply wave as I drove by.

He was walking calmly with his son.

On a 10 mile hike through rural area where people generally know their neighbors but he wasn't a neighbor so, one of them called the police to report two armed men they didn't recognize walking down the road.

When a resident reports suspicious activity, the police have to investigate. So, the approaching officer didn't know what was going on with the two men. Maybe they were rustlers. Maybe they were burglars. Maybe they were highly dangerous fleeing felons whose car had broken down.

In rural areas, neighbors know each other. Nobody recognized them. One of the neighbors probably fed up with rustlers, thieves and trespassers phoned in a report of two suspicious armed males.

If the man was carrying a shotgun, would this have happened?

Around here, if a man is walking down a remote road with a gun, everyone would think they are hunting.

The guy was not dressed like a hunter and nobody in the area recognized him which is why someone called the police..

Uh huh

“Gee, I saw this Black guy driving an expensive car, so I pulled him over to see if he had stolen it. I mean, heh heh, what Black dude has that kinda money, or job, to drive a better car than *I* do?”

Yeah, construct an excuse and flaunt your badge and sidearm.

Great cops you kneel before.

A clear cut case of contempt of cop. What do they say...you might beat the rap, but you won’t beat the ride.

I’m thinking there might be a payout at the end of this.

“The officer wants to go home safe and sound at the end of his shift. “

Then he should no longer be a cop. If he’s that big of a pussy he shouldn’t have a badge.

I think the cop was more concerned about the possibility of a lone shooting.

You’re right and i do value officer safety. I just cant understandwhy he had to abruptly and brusquely physically manhandle this father in front of his son. This involves a loss uv face.

Why did he need to suddenly grab him?

It seems that stopping, peering at his id and consulting a database should have done nicely —a mature , adult interaction.

Bad people have always hated cops but now also some good people do so, also.

Its sad and america should not be like this.
