Shoplifters have a new threat to be on the watch for. Their fellow shoppers who are tired of prices being increased to cover their five fingered discounting ways.
Take 49 seconds to watch this clip of a young man who will more than likely never shoplift again after this!
It’s an answer to the “knock out game” with productive results.
Wow! The guy who was shoplifting could have conceivably filed assault charges. The other customer is probably lucky he didn’t.
The other problem is I doubt the shoplifter learned a lesson. He will just become an even angrier thug. He and his friends will probably come back and trash the store.
Unfortunately, I'd say it's even odds that the shoplifter will return with some of his friends and kill the guy who clocked him.
That method of communication seemed very effective for that young man.
I calling fake on this one. The camera work was too perfect and looked scripted.
Yeah, that’s assault, especially the second hit.
If it’s real, there could well be a prosecution.
Wonder if it really is a response to knockout game. SInce normal people don’t hit strangers for no reason, it’s hard for knockout victim class to replicate the “feat” of just walking up to people and hitting them for no reason. So, maybe this guy saw the theft and thought this was his chance at Knockout. I do think he could have been charged with assault. For example, if the perp had a skull fracture from hitting pavement instead of wood flooring. Yes I know I’m sick of thieves and thugs too but this wasn’t self defense or defending anyone else so yeah, looks like assault.
I think it was a security cam that is manned by someone and can zoom, follow the person, etc. to get enough evidence and then stop them as they walk out - with the video as evidence.

Just wondering, it’s not actually shoplifting until you walk out the door is it? The potential thief could have claimed he put the goods in the bag because it was easier to carry while he continued to “shop”. That being said, way to go!
That’s on Liveleak as well. It doesn’t say where or even what country it comes from.
What?! You mean a gibmedat democrat voter was stopped from taking what he wanted? ... I’m sure Holder will have folks down there immediately to deal with this vigilante obstructing Holder’s people.
“Just wondering, its not actually shoplifting until you walk out the door is it?”
Comment on Liveleak claimed that hiding it was good enough proof of intent, but I dunno for sure.
Profiled! Racist! Was that George Zimmerman?
Love it.
The shoplifter will probably start doing Knockout Games with his buddies.
“Sure. Blame the victims. Are you sure FreeRepublic is your place? You are a bit new here, however your posts send up flags.”
Not blaming the victim at all.
But the criminal (Shoplifter) could very well have filed assault charges.
First off, the guy who hit him was just another customer and he was not being physically threatened by the shoplifter. The punch was an inappropriate use of force. If he’d confronted the guy and he’d started to run it would have been a different story. Second he was not from the look of the video either an employee or owner of the store so he was not directly liable for any monetary loss. The shoplifter was not committing a violent crime so the use of force cannot be sanctioned by protecting another person.
As much as you might think the shoplifter deserved it, the guy throwing the punch, especially the second punch was committing assault and the guy throwing the punch was violating the law just as much as the shoplifter.
Are you sure FreeRepublic is your place?
Give me a break. You disagree with something like this and say something like that....
