LEE BRIGHT CAMPAIGN: Harry Reid Makes Fools out of Lindsey Graham and GOP Establishment
Bright For Senate ^ | 11-21-13 | Bright For Senate Staff

LINDSEY GRAHAMS APPEASEMENT APPROACH PROVEN FAILURE

The naïve bipartisan strategy preferred by Republican moderates like Lindsey Graham, John McCain and Mitch McConnell was further embarrassed on Thursday, as Harry Reid and the Democrats rammed through a measure limiting the rights of the Senate minority on a party line vote.

“I wonder if Lindsey Graham and John McCain have learned their lesson yet” said Lee Bright following the 52-48 vote engineered by Reid that takes away the 60 vote cloture rules on certain Senate votes. The conservative challenger to Graham who has been picking up major endorsements and straw poll victories all across the state, added that “we’ve said from day one that the problem in this country is the Obama-Reid-Schumer agenda, and Republicans like Graham, McCain and Mitch McConnell refuse to fight it. People like Graham insult patriots like Ted Cruz and Mike Lee, insisting that we must reach across the aisle and work together. How’s that working out for you today, Mr. Graham?”

I’m not so sure it’s appropriate to blame Harry Reid for this.

Linda Graham and the GOPe do a pretty good job of making fools of themselves without any help from Harry Reid. You can’t blame him for taking advantage of these fools.

Graham and McCain’s “reaching across the aisle” has finally paid off for the Dems.

They are worthless Rinos

I don’t think Bright was blaming Reid….I think it’s pretty clear he was blaming Graham and McCain for being tools of Reids….

The internet is like magic sometimes :

The problem today is a systemic one, i.e., the misuse of a Senate rule to block judicial nominees from receiving the consent (or rejection) of the full Senate. Each of these candidates reportedly has enough votes for confirmation, but for the unprecedented use or threat of filibusters. The majority has every right and reason to change the rule.

This is the attitude that all Senate candidates fighting against entrenched Rinos should take, just imagine the type of ads that could be run with all the videos of the lying hypocrits in the democrat party as well as the Rinos.
They are all on tape saying how wonderful everything was going to be when everyone has free healthcare, now they change hundreds of years of tradition in the Senate to stack the DC court of appeals with communist Obama lovers to further his EPA crap, the ads could be dynamite. The only fear I have is the cowards in the republican party will punt again.
Too bad,the opportunities are delicious to dream about anyway

RE :”I would respectfully disagree with ML on that one….something I rarely do.

You dont have to.

Yesterday Levin did a 180 degrees on what he said in 2005 and was claiming that changing the (same) rules to on that part of filibuster was another illegitimate abuse of seizing power and hating Representative government.

But in 2005 he went even further and made the case in his book that filibustering judges with less than 51 was unconstitutional.

His constitution flips with POTUS’s.

I just HAD to tune in yesterday.

I have no problem with Reid making a fool of Graham or McCain, but really Reid does not need to go to the effort, as they are already have done that themselves.

Harry gave the Rinos a good old fashion rogering from the left while they were trying to reach across the aisle.

Sooooo... are you saying that being a hypocrite justifies Reid’s action?

Because Reid’s position in 2008 that exercising the nuclear option would be a grotesque overreach of power that would run against every last wish and intention for freedom from tyranny as it was expressed by the Founders of this country.

The difference between Reid and Levin is that the former is the head of the most powerful legislative body on the planet, and the latter is a radio talk show host. Tell me which one is the bigger gutless criminal when it comes to being a hypocrite.

RE :”Sooooo... are you saying that being a hypocrite justifies Reid’s action?”

That question is not well phrased.
Reid's action justified as long as he is a hypocrite?
I know I did say that.

RE :”The difference between Reid and Levin is that the former is the head of the most powerful legislative body on the planet, and the latter is a radio talk show host. “

His past position on this was repeated here by more than a few as if he is Moses coming down from the Mount with the US constitution on stone tablets. And his new one will be too.

And so those opinions that the GOP should have done what Reid just did except first were and are still popular here with more than a few.

Nothing says we have to like what Reid did, unless we said it was a good idea before.
