Speaking of this filibuster thing....I got an opinion.

Y’all are entitled to my opinion and I give it willingly.

First, this so-called super-majority vote, it’s not in the constitution. This is a senate parliamentary procedure and there’s nothing wrong with having procedural rules. But once the majority can break the rules, as has been pointed out by Rush and others, there are NO rules.

THAT’s what the Dems did....they eliminated the rules.

I say leave it that way. Let a majority decide senate votes cause the Dems will fool around with this rule the rest of their lives....let a simple majority decide things in that House of Lords, it’s how the founders intended it to be. If Americans don’t like this, elect a majority in the senate....let’s not keep letting these Elites change the rules as they see fit.

WHEN the pubs get back in charge, THEY BETTER NOT CHANGE IT BACK!

THAT would be dumb.

But who accused them of ever being all that smart?

Got another thought on this....more later.

I think Obama’s in serious, serious trouble.

I think the Dems are chomping at the leash to be rid of this guy.

Oh they’re not going to impeach him; I doubt this will ever happen. I do think the Dems want to sit this guy on the bac k burner and hope to keep him quiet for the remaining three years he’s got.

For now, he’s got just a little bit of political capital left. The Dems want him to use it up while he can cause each passing week brings more bad news. Obamacare is NEVER going to keep better, it is the gift that keeps giving.

I know politicians lie, sure they lie, it’s what politicians do. But out here in la-la land where we carry this country on our backs we understand that constant lies have consequences. Politicians....the Ruling Elite Class....have no common sense. It didn’t occur to them that Obama’s blatant lying would come back to bite. Hell the Dems were all in on it too!

So they want to ram through his communist judges, hence the filibuster, and how about next year they’re going to move open enrollment by eleven days? Here we are a year away and they know already that they’re going to need those eleven extra days? Just enough to push it past the 2014 elections when the Dems know they’re going to get routed.

THAT particular move is another sure sign of Obama going down the drain. “Stay with me guys, and I’ll change the next open enrollment until after the 2014 election,” I hear Obama begging.

America is going to rise up over all these lies, it’s bound to happen, it’s happening now and will continue.

Well I got another thought on that too.

Recast your battle focus. Eph 6 is not woofing. It is the key that unlocks the door to a successful battle.

ANY human, today our enemy, could be our friend tomorrow (or at least relent from some of his hatred, and then he who is not against us is for us) for all we know. One can deal severely if required with opponents without bestowing on them the kind of indelible recognition for evil power that belongs only to Satan.

As Satan is forced to back down, people too will change. Grudges against people will greatly hobble us from capitalizing on the situation.

You seriously underestimate Reid and Obama duplicity...

He isn't going to give the pubs a chance to change it back because the when it becomes clear they will loss the Senate he will in the "name of fairness" reinstate the filibuster rule before he becomes minority leader...

There isn't a thing the pubs can do about it...

When the pubs take over the Senate and try this same tactic, you will never hear the end of the media and Reid and his minions calling it a power grab...and it isn't fair after all we changed the rules back....

...after they got done ramming down the Senate throats all sorts of left wing radical nominees and appointments...

Clarice Feldman has an analysis of Reid's filibuster initiative.

She says the Obie will get a couple of wacky libs on lower courts, but won't be able to pack the DC circuit because the house is in no friggn' mood to increase their budget to expand the number of judges.

Secondly, that ugly mood will cause all sorts of trouble; slow playing any nominees, totally refusing to approve a SC nomination should one occur (3/5ths still needed for legislation and SC nominees at this point)

For legislation the house can simply refuse to take up any legislation that has not passed the 3/5th gauntlet.

Finally, the timing is particularly bad, since Dems are looking at losing the senate in short order, short enough that a slow play tactic would nullify most everything.

All in all, its not the end of the world. Still, I love the idea that the Senate is supposed to be a body that gums up the whole works and makes change very slow, deliberate, and supported by more than one party. What's to stop Reid from adopting a simple majority for everything ? Feldman says fear of the bite-back is greater than the short term win.

And as you mentioned, Fish, 3/5ths , or 2/3rds requirements are not in the constitution. They are simply rules adopted, long held and obeyed as they may be.

My solution would be to keep a supermajority rule for much of the senate business which could be agreed upon by a simple majority, but not taking affect for 6 years.
