Iran nuclear deal: Saudi Arabia warns it will strike out on its own

Saudi Arabia claims they were kept in the dark by Western allies over Iran nuclear deal and says it will strike out on its own.

A senior advisor to the Saudi royal family has accused its Western allies of deceiving the oil rich kingdom in striking the nuclear accord with Iran and said Riyadh would follow an independent foreign policy.

Nawaf Obaid told a think tank meeting in London that Saudi Arabia was determined to pursue its own foreign and policy goals. Having in the past been reactive to events, the leading Sunni Muslim nation was determined to be pro-active in future.

Mr Obaid said that while Saudi Arabia knew that the US was talking directly to Iran through a channel in the Gulf state of Oman, Washington had not directly briefed its ally.

"We were lied to, things were hidden from us," he said. "The problem is not with the deal struck in Geneva but how it was done."

I’m wondering if Israel doesn’t already have assets deployed at the kingdom’s air bases, painted with Saudi markings.

The House of Saud has been the main factor in the US foreign policy for decades. They rely on us to fight their wars, in return they keep things in the area at a low boil (not easy).

With the US abandoning Saud and their allies Israel, you will see a realignment.

Russia is looking to protect its ethnic and religious cohorts in the area. People we have turned against.

Heard on the radio on the way home tonight. Bibi said in a news conference that the deal was terrible and that “...we cannot and will not let...” That’s pretty clear. Can not, and will not. If Iran continues, as we know they will in spite of the deal, Israel will take action. Direct, violent, final action. Good luck and good hunting IAF.

AMEN

if ‘bummer thought this was going to be a ‘pick-me-up’ in the polls, it looks like it's failing - even alienated some MORE dems - (not even counting free world leaders)

Meanwhile, Putie, who has been calling for world leaders to come to the aid of the Christians bummers friends are slaughtering in the ME, just had a meeting with the Pope on the subject.

Now if ‘bummer made a move to halt the slaughter of Christians, he'd get some good marks - but even tyquia - however the practice of allowing muzzies to lie to non-muzzies - is spelled, only goes so far. Saving Christians isn't one.
