The notorious North Carolina stripper who falsely accused a group of Duke lacrosse players of raping her is headed to prison after being convicted in the 2011 stabbing death of her boyfriend.

Crystal Gail Mangum, 34, was sentenced to a minimum of 14 years in prison on the second-degree murder charge, crying as the jury came back Friday with a unanimous verdict after six hours of deliberations.

Mangum stabbed Reginald Daye, 46, on April 3, 2011, as the couple fought. She claimed the stabbing was in self-defense and that he was beating her when she snatched the kitchen knife and “poked him in the side.”

“He straddled me, hit me, and then he started choking me,” she said in court, WTVD-TV reported. “I couldn’t breathe. My head hurt real bad.”

I don't believe in Karma, but if I did, it would act out like this.

Oh, just for the record:

Maybe someday we’ll get an answer as to why she was never charged after the false accusation.

Not that the Gang of 88 are all that apologetic for their heinous role in piling on. Here is their "explanation".

Okay, after seeing that picture, I am now convinced that the Duke Lacrosse team is guilty. They are guilty of hiring the ugliest stripper they could find!! They should all get two years for that.

She wasn’t charged after the false accusations because AG Roy Cooper said she had mental problems. LOL (no, really?)

The real story is she probably had a lot of dirt on the powers that be in Durham. She had previously stolen a car, tried to run over a policeman, drove through two counties endangering everyone else on the road, on and on. For all her crimes she was never charged. Some said it was because the police were running a call girl ring (she had the DNA of 10+ different men in her when she claimed she had been raped) or maybe the police chief had some kind of connection with her, maybe a child.

Whatever the reasons, she was never charged for any of her previous crimes. Daye’s blood is on Roy Coopers hands.

From the article:

“Prosecutors in the murder case pointed to another incident, in 2010, when Mangum was found guilty of contributing to the abuse of minors in an episode where she trashed Daye’s car and set fire to his clothes.”

Ya gotta know when to get away from the crazy ones.
