I sold all of my father’s decoys for him on Craigslist a couple of years ago; he’s gotten too old to hunt, and while I enjoy gun collecting I’ve never enjoyed hunting.
Hope they catch the thieves.
Look for some parks and wildlife employees who have spoken out against hunting.
Then look for animal rights nuts in the area.
Ask any Duck hunter on the Texas Gulf Coast, if you don’t want your decoys stolen you must pick them up when you leave.
From the article:
The decoys and blinds had been set up for a waterfowl hunting seminar which was to be held that afternoon, the CPW said in a Monday news release.
These weren't just a couple of decoys that that had been forgotten is some field.
I own part of a 600 acre family ranch in central Texas. We
have 18 oil and gas wells on the property. The people who
service the wells and haul the crude out think they can do
what they want on the property like hunting and fishing.
About this time every year I walk the property and collect
all the deer stands that they sneak in, and take them to
the feed store and sell then on consignment. We lease the
land to ranchers and all signed or verbal agreements leave
me to decide who hunts and fishes on the ranch. I don’t
hunt deer at all. But I have no problem with people who do
and I wish more did. The point is that I make a little money
on those stands selling them and this may be just theft.
By the way I do hunt pigs, dove, quail, squirrel and rabbits.
I just don’t like the taste of deer.
Well ok, must have been fast ones.
