War against China? Who’s he going to get to fight it?..Illegal aliens?

*******

Illegals will run for the border first. They have always had the opportunity to enlist and gain legal status but most refuse to do so.

The Chinese are very busy snapping up natural resources, minerals, etc. all over the world. They have enough people, that they consider expendable, that it will be horrible when we wind up fighting them.

And all those dollars spent on Chinese products are bankrolling their aquisitions and military build up. I don’t buy Chinese if I can avoid it. I wouldn’t care if we did put a tariff on them, especially if we lowered the income tax at the same time.

I agree partially. My point is that one way to keep the Chinese deterred, and not have to fight them, is to not let them have the upper hand in terms of resources.

However, MOST of the dollars going to China are building up their infrastructure and economy. They understand that in the long run, this will make them more powerful than diverting it all into their military, now. Either way, I certainly support “buy American” when possible — I worked for a US manufacturer for many years, until their demise, and do contract work for another, now. Unfortunately, we have done far more harm to ourselves than anything the Chinese have done.

Well we agree about the resources. To the extent possible, I won't be contributing any money to them through buying their products. Regardless of whether they are spending it to buy resources, build infrastructure, or build up the military.

I appears to me that they are doing all three. I also don't think that they should have ever been given “preferred trade” status. They are very patient, but I do not believe their military/government has good intentions toward us. They believe that this is their century, and the USA is a has been, and they are happy to help us achieve has been status. JMO

The admin can do this for a territorial claim for an ally but can’t scramble a pair of fighters to help in Benghazi. Go figure.

Not gonna subscribe to the WSJ, but from what I can read maybe we’ll have to give a cookie to the Obama Administration on this one.

They were pretty prompt at surfacing a couple of Tridents during an earlier confrontation between China and their neighbors ....... in Subic Bay, for instance, and Diego Garcia. The Chinese didn't like that.

The Regime also transited a CBG across the South China Sea the minute the Chinese declared that it was Chinese territory all the way to the Philippines and Borneo, including the sea bottom and the water column.

Barky's willingness to play gunboat diplomacy with the Chinese is a little puzzling, given his other, um, "predilections". For ring-kissing, for example.

The Chinese are pretty tough on their own muslim minority. Maybe that has something to do with it.

Also, BO spent a number of years in Indonesia - Chinese are rather disliked there, historically.

“Who’s he going to get to fight it?”

He just wants to start one. He could care less how and where
it is fought. I’m sure he would prefer it be right here on
American soil. If he starts a war, just like all tards, he
has no intention of wining it. He just wants a “law of the land”
treaty that makes him king. And I’m sure he’s willing to
give up half the country to get it. Obama truly believes
America is cruel, unjust and is the biggest problem in
the world. His goal is to bring us down.

You profess not want to take money out of my pocket, but you're perfectly happy to block that money from every getting into my pocket in the first place aren't you. This didn't occur to you? Seriously?

In other words, I must pay higher taxes to the government because you feel that the government needs to protect you from me.

I have an idea: let's set-up a computer system so the government can keep track of all this. We can give it some time, maybe three years, and plenty of money. We can determine who gets, and doesn't get, cheap stuff. To be on the safe side (because buying stuff is complicated), let's experiment on only one-sixth of the economy first. What can possibly go wrong?

This situation is more dangerous than anything in the Mid-East.
WHY? Because the community-organizer in Chief has zero experience dealing with China and Japan. China is simply off his naive, inexperienced American-leftist radar. There are no applicable progressive slogans or soundbites to use, nor is there a Chicago Politics play-book for him to refer to.

Hey, I've got a great idea...Let's like, umm, make umm Caroline Kennedy like umm the Ambassador to Japan! Yeah. That'll like show those commies a umm thing or two,and who they be messing with...

I am in support of your idea.

China is becoming a true competitor of America.

That means we need to compete AGAINST China, in the world. The sooner we get started, the better we will do.

Buy American.

What would be the best thing in the world for Islam ?

It would be for China and the US to nuke each other and voila, Islam rules the world.

“I have ZERO interest in a fight with a billion Chinese and neither should you.”

Islam’s best dream is for the USA and China to nuke each other, decimating Buddism and Christianity, capitalism and everything modernity depends on.

I have this feeling that this is going to end up with an unimaginable tragedy if China doesn't back down. The possibility of a Japan Airlines or All-Nippon Airways airliner flying between Tokyo/Osaka and Taipei being "accidently" fired upon by Chinese jet fighters is now no longer far-fetched.

My impression is that the Chinese civilian leadership is letting the military probe to discover the extent to which territory is free for the taking at minimal expense. The appropriate historical analogy would be the expansion into Indian territory that was part of Manifest Destiny during the winning of the West. The moment a serious clash ensues, they will pull back, hard, on the reins. Because the point of the endeavor is low cost expansion, not a military clash that costs trillions of dollars in lost military equipment, lifetime pension payments to hundreds of thousands of grieving widows and parents, trade losses and tit-for-tat economic warfare.

China's moves have nothing to do with Marxism-Leninism - China's economy is privatized with the exception of a number of state-run enterprises, and even those are run as profit-making enterprises, with executives paid and promoted based on the amount of money these enterprises make (although nepotism is a huge factor in HR decisions). Ultimately, China is resuming its ancient habit, prior to its 200 years of relative weakness, of taking territory from its neighbors whenever it can do so at minimal cost. Because China's traditional weltanschauung sees the world as composed of current Chinese provinces and future Chinese provinces, with or without their current inhabitants, depending on their willingness to submit to Chinese rule.
