EDITORIAL: Falsifying government reports to get re-elected?
Washington Times ^ | Nov 28, 2013

Posted on 12/01/2013 10:53:51 AM PST by Jim Robinson

When government pays for something, it gets more of it. For the past five years, Congress has been pushing “emergency” subsidies for long-term unemployment, and, not surprisingly, we’ve been getting more joblessness — a fact some have been working overtime to conceal.

When President Obama took office, there were 2.7 million who had spent at least three years jobless. Now, 4.1 million fall into that category, demonstrating that government “help” isn’t always an improvement. Yet congressional Democrats still want more. On Tuesday, they demanded House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Dave Camp bring up legislation to extend unemployment benefits indefinitely. That will only make a bad situation worse.

Democrats want to have it both ways. Unemployment is a terrible problem when they’re looking to justify more handouts, but when Mr. Obama is up for re-election, happy days are here again. Bureaucrats at the Labor Department and Census Bureau worked around the clock last year to ensure that voters wouldn’t be left with the impression that four years of Obamanomics had damaged the economy.

On Inauguration Day 2009, the unemployment rate was 7.8 percent, but the first unemployment report released in 2012 counted a jobless rate of 8.5 percent. With Election Day approaching, they knew something had to be done. By October, the unemployment figure had been brought down to the magic number of 7.8 percent, enabling the president to campaign around the country touting reports of the jobless rate “tumbling” and “plunging.” Many at the time found the numbers a bit too convenient to be true, and now we know why. The New York Post says it has documents confirming that a Census Bureau employee put a shine on the pre-election figures on orders from his superiors.

and to think the dumb arses in Wall Street rely on OBama numbers for their optimism... i thought Wall Street was its own economic knowledge benchmark predicting how the nation business goes, but I guess they too are government slaves waiting for the stupid communist oracles. shaking my head.

These supposed “scandals” and there are surely more than have come to light though many have, are in fact criminal acts by this administration.

Of course the head honcho rather than take responsibility “knows nothing.”

The Census Bureau scandal is just one of many instances of the administration employing deception to accomplish political goals. In the Fast and Furious scandal, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives lied to Congress about its scheme of running guns to Mexican drug lords. After the tragedy in Benghazi, administration officials made up a bogus story about a YouTube video to conceal the true nature of the terrorist attack. The Internal Revenue Service singled out conservative and Tea Party groups for discrimination, but it blamed what happened on low-level rogue agents in Ohio, when the orders came from Washington. The biggest fib of all has proved to be “If you like your health plan, you can keep it.”

And the media, as always, is complicit in all of it. We were warned. Joe Plumber, ACORN, etc.

Gosh I wonder why MSNBC lost half of it’s viewers this year. Maybe it was because they reported these numbers.

I for one, have lost all confidence that Issa will get to the bottom of anything when it comes to these criminals.

It’s like this regime uses new scandals to deflect the older scandals. Remember, over a year ago most of the pundits were saying Eric Holder is going to have to step down or be fired over ‘fast and furious’. Nothing happened to anyone over Benghazi. Lois Lerner gets to plead the 5th and walk away scot free. That’s just a few of them and it’s a pattern that really needs an investigation of it’s own.

I just don’t think the Republicans are up to the fight when it comes to these communist democrats.

Everything you see hear and read about Obama is a lie... his identity, his religion, his family, his promises, his stats, his plans, and his results. He is quite literally The Prince of Lies.

From the criminals’ point of view, there is no better crime than electoral fraud. There’s no way to take back the illegalities after the election.

So, now I hear the IRS is getting even worse with their politically-based attacks on the citizens. This is what happens when you let off on the gas pedal. Thank you very much, Congressman Issa, for letting the IRS off the hook.

I was wondering what that was all about. Thanks for the clean-up. Photo-spams get really irritating. Yet I know those who do it mean well at heart.

I’ll post fewer images if you wish.

But if you’re wondering why I post lots of images, here’s why:

#1 When threads are re-posted around the web (example on Facebook), it grabs more attention/eyes if there’s an image (as opposed to just a text headline). More often than not, Freep threads have no image/visual to attract attention.

#2 Alinsky Rule No 5: “Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon. It is almost impossible to counterattack ridicule. Also it infuriates the opposition, who then react to your advantage.”

It is not just Issa, it is every investigation by any republican. They never get to the bottom of anything. They are incompetent. Then they have the nerve to go after any candidate that will follow through and say they are extremist and will not get elected.

More often than not, Freep threads have no image/visual to attract attention.

If the only way you can attract attention is by posting bandwidth hogging images, it's probably best not to post them at all. Especially when said images have nothing to do with the topic at hand.

#2 Alinsky Rule No 5: “Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon. It is almost impossible to counterattack ridicule. Also it infuriates the opposition, who then react to your advantage.”

See above

I agree with the over size images. It is very easy to resize an image to 300 x 150 or whatever. Thanks.

“Gosh I wonder why MSNBC lost half of it’s viewers this year.”
////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

MSNBC losing half its viewers is akin to a gutter wino losing half his net worth because he drank half his bottle of Thunderbird. They didn’t have enough viewers to populate a large asylum to begin with and the average viewer is dumber than the average inmate of an insane asylum.
